The Paramilitary 2 as we know it today is the second iteration of the old Para Military, a model designed by Spyderco as a more compact and accessible version of their Military model. But if you're looking for something even more compact, the Para 3 might be the knife for you!
One of my favorite spydercos right out of the box, it was so nice I ordered a second one as a spare. It’s scary sharp like just about every spyderco out of the box, blade is centered, mostly even grind, and a very smooth action. The s90v upgrade is a nice touch, probably the closest (other than the fairly brittle 110v) to lc200n or Magnacut for corrosion resistance as well as being relatively tough with excellent edge retention. The teal g10 is an interesting color in person and is medium grippy. As a side note for anyone working at spyderco, I’m sure I speak for many people when I say I would love to see Magnacut become a common production steel!
S90v and a dope color? Cheaper than the normal pm2? Yes, please.
This wasn’t the exact route I was planning on getting a PM2 but I have wanted one for a while and this deal popped up with a bonus of S90V?!?!? My Smock is excellent but had to get the OG Spyderco. Gonna get some nice scales and a deep carry which I would have done anyway. The PM2 is a sweet “this is the one I needed that I was missing feel” if you don’t own one.
Super sharp S90V steel at a great price point. Great ergonomics, beautiful color.
For a knife this expensive, I was pretty disappointed when it showed up with markings on the handle scales like it got stained. Also it does have some blade play side to side. Maybe it was a return? I did notice finger prints on the blade and one close to the pivot where it is partially covered by the handle either from assembly or someone took it apart. I've never noticed finger prints on any other knives that I have purchased new before. I bought this when it was on sale so if I return it I won't be able to get one for the same price.
