...this one will make you very, very happy. It's the most distinctive knife I own while still being a very functional tool, and it's likely to be your new favorite from the moment you hear the solid, meaty "thwack" it makes when it locks up.
Handling: This is a heavy, long, solid knife that feels great in the hand (but less so in the pocket). The Ti scales are skeletonized slightly and balance well with the very thick blade stock. The, um, scales on the scales gives good grip without creating any hot spots.
Fit and finish: This knife could easily be mistaken for an integral. The tolerances are very tight and the overall quality and design more than jusify the price.
Blade: The edge was not quite shaving sharp out of the box, but quite good. The grind is beauiful, and the recurve and belly on the blade make it a great slicer for thinner/softer material. The thickness of the blade means it isn't great at going through denser media; it tends to bind in thick cardboard.
Action: A solid detent and butter-smooth bearings mean a solid lockup every time you hit the flipper. And oh man, that sound it makes when it clicks into place is just addictive. When you push aside the frame lock it nearly falls shut. But that brings us to the only issues that keep this knife from being near perfect...
First, the beveling on the inside of the frame lock thumb depression makes the knife comfortable to use but a bear to close. You have to really jam your thumb in there hard to get a purchase on it. The knife seems to be saying, "Come on, why would you ever want to close me?" For the satisfaction of opening it again, of course.
Also, this is not a great EDC in your pocket, due to the weight and size, but also the good-looking but impractical pocket clip. It is thin and pointy, and almost needs two hands to get it down over your pocket edge.
Which is a shame, because you'll want to carry this thing everywhere and show it off to random people on the street. I just love this thing. If I could only buy one knife this year, this would be it.

It was with some trepidation that I decided to plunk down the nearly $300 for a "Chinese" knife. Well, my 604E arrived today and I have to say that my expectations have been blown away. I have owned and currently own multiple brands of knives costing several times what this knife did and the 604 certainly holds its own against them and in many cases surpasses them with regards to the fit, finish, action, ergonomics, blade grind, sharpness (pick your attribute) are simply outstanding! If you are on the fence about purchasing a 604 or other WE knife, go ahead and hop off and buy one. You'll be glad you did! Based on these initial impressions, I will be ordering one of the 605's very soon. I should add that their customer service is outstanding. I have not needed service, but had a few questions while deciding to order. EVERY email was responded to quickly and completely. I really have not one negative to say. If this changes, I will certainly report back, but I just don't think that will be necessary.
