This 701C model sports a tan G-10 handle and a black stonewash finished blade made from D2 steel.

We knife Co's 701 series offers a large, comfortable G-10 handle with a highly functional sheepsfoot blade. This solid utility folder is kept slim and light with grippy G-10 handle scales and a sturdy stainless steel liner lock frame. The sheepsfoot style blade has a flat edge and a hollow grind for managing a variety of cutting chores. A titanium backspacer and hardware finish off the outstanding design.

  • G-10 handle scales provide a textured grip and a lightweight build.
  • D2 tool blade steel for corrosion resistance and edge retention.
  • Titanium pocket clip, hardware, and backspacer offer rock solid construction.

Another great we product
brian d.
Style-wise the blade is unique and sharp. The handle for my hand does have a hotspot for my middle finger. The clip is looks great and functions well.
The deployment is smooth and the detent is rather light. Though I could not get it to gravity-deploy, the detent doesn't grab the blade with authority. Quality is high as expected. I found no sharp edges on jimping, clip, spacer. Awesome quality for the price. The d2 steel and the handle styling may be a deal breaker for some, though this is not the case for me.
I'm a sucker for a big wharncliffe and D2!

When I saw it, I knew I had to have it, just like my review title states.
Combine a a stout 4" D2 blade with an aggressive Wharncliffe design, and it's hard to beat as a combination edc/defensive blade!!
The fit and finish is great. Perfectly centered, smooth as glass, and well balanced are all terms that come to mind with this, my first WE Knife.
I have a feeling, there will be more!
Go ahead and pull the trigger....
You won't be disappointed!
Meh... And priced drop days after purchasing

It's just ok. The fit finish and action are what we have come to expect from WE (I own several). The materials you get for the price Ti back spacer hardware and clip, g10 and d2 plus ceramic bearings is very fair for the price (however I paid 118 then like two days later Bladehq dropped price to 100 my thoughts may slightly differ had gotten at lower price little bummed I over paid) But there are several small issues with knife that lead to overall feeling of don't hate it don't love it. Jimping on the liner lock is the sharpest I have ever felt on a knife and actually tears my skin up, they could have skeletonized the nested liner to get weight down, the detent is awful and easiest knife I've ever been able to overcome while doing a gravity flip while testing its detent, also mine has slight lateral play in locked position. And others covered in my full review.

PS: On a positive note thumb hole is operational as a opening choice, using thumb or middle finger spydie flick and found these to be better stronger opening option then using flipper tab because of weak detent, and blade shape is more usable then as it appears visually.
