We knife Co's 701 series offers a large, comfortable G-10 handle with a highly functional sheepsfoot blade. This solid utility folder is kept slim and light with grippy G-10 handle scales and a sturdy stainless steel liner lock frame. The sheepsfoot style blade has a flat edge and a hollow grind for managing a variety of cutting chores. A titanium backspacer and hardware finish off the outstanding design.

  • G-10 handle scales provide a textured grip and a lightweight build.
  • D2 tool blade steel for corrosion resistance and edge retention.
  • Titanium pocket clip, hardware, and backspacer offer rock solid construction.

Excellent Quality & More Practical Than It Looks

The WE 701E makes a bold statement. I like it a lot.

The black stone wash on the blade is the best I've seen... or felt. Gorgeous with a silky smooth finish. Very KNICE! :-)

The triangular cutout in the blade is barely functional as a thumb flip feature. It's hit or miss for me. The generously jimped and very ergonomic flipper tab works perfectly, with the scallop in the handle at that point assisting the flipper action. The knife can also be opened with an inertial bounce (aka gravity opening) although the detent has good retention so a slight shake won't do it. It's not difficult, but it does take a quick authoritative and deliberate motion.

The 3D contoured G10 handle fits my hand very well and the leaf pattern is attractive. It's not aggressively textured or grippy on the surface, but the generous concave surfaces for the thumb and index finger combined with the swell that fits the palm result in a very secure grip without any textural harshness. The positive grip is very much the result of how well the knife handle fits the hand. There is some useful but unobtrusive jimping all along the spine of the milled and anodized titanium back spacer.

The machining and anodizing on the back spacer and pocket clip are superb. The color is interesting, with the subtlety that only anodizing can produce. It's a dull non-reflective gold with a slight olive tinge. The same color appears on the pivot, lanyard pin, and the custom fasteners used to secure the back spacer. The splash of color is attractive without being garish or distracting.

The 4" modified sheep's foot blade shape is interesting, bordering on the realm of fantasy knife, but it's actually quite useful. I like the long almost completely flat cutting edge. The spine shape is Klingonesque. The thumb ramp jimping is perfectly executed - very usable without any unpleasantness. It's among the sharpest blades I have. Very slicey.

The action is damned near perfect. Flickability Factor 10.

It's too nice to EDC, but I'm carrying it anyway.

This is my third WE knife, and almost certainly not my last. The quality and value are difficult to beat.
Very impressed.

This is my first We Knife. The detent is good. It takes a bit of force to open, or a bit of a wrist flick, due to the blade's heft, but it locks with authority. The G-10 looks much better in person than in the photos I saw prior. While I watched a review that the jimping on the liner lock was too aggressive, I disagree. That may depend on how tough folks hands are. I lift a lot so mine are fairly used to abrasion.

It stabs well enough and though its more of a cutting tool, I'm comfortable using it as a defensive edc too.

I got an immediate compliment on it from a lady at Walmart of all places. It's a striking design and a good conversation starter.
Great knife for the price

This is my first foray into WE knives and I must say I am impressed with the quality of the fit and finish. The anodized titanium hardware and overall design look great.

It makes for a rather aggressive-looking choice for EDC IMHO. I really like the action and the detent on my copy is good.

I really wish they had designed a forward finger choil however since it is hard to safely use that aggressive blade tip for detail work without it.
Overall, I am impressed with the offering, great knife for the price
