The WE Knife Co. Practic is a simple EDC folding knife that impresses with premium materials and an affordable price point. This model sports a tan G-10 handle with blue finished liners and hardware. Its satin finished blade is made from resilient Bohler M390 stainless steel, and deploys with ease on a smooth ceramic ball bearing pivot. The Practic includes a machined titanium pocket clip for secure daily carry.
Features:For what you pay and what you get... This thing is a Gem! I had been looking for a flipper in M390 and for ~$150 this is a good buy. I like that it is a simple knife and not flashy. The action is smooth and blade centering is spot on. The hollow grind blade slices like a champ. I have large hands and it fits me well. Though I have only had it a short time I find myself grabbing it over my other knives.
I picked up the knife a few months back and it’s my regular EDC. Great size, awesome snappy action, and a comfortable feel with no hot spots. I use it daily and it has retained its blade well. My only flaw is the pocket clip is on the small side. I don’t think you can find a better knife at this price point with M390 steel!
This knife is made to be practical. It is a great office knife. It isn't a heavy use knife, but it will be able to take on whatever city or around-the-house/office tasks you throw it. The M390 holds an edge great. Everything about the knife works just fine. My gripe is that it doesn't fidget well. That's a silly reason to not carry it as often, but it frequently gets kicked out of my pocket by a knife with a more fun locking mechanism. I don't know that I would buy it again. There isn't anything wrong with it, by any means. It's great. It's just a bit to practical, I guess. Take that as you will.
I wanted to love this knife, I really did. I did my research, compared it to offerings from Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, and Spyderco, and ultimately chose the We Knife Company Practic 809B, with the tan G-10 handle. I eagerly awaited it, and was excited when it arrived in the mail, but I have carried it for three days now, and after three days I feel “meh”. It’s a nice knife, don’t get me wrong. But it does nothing for me. It is bland,it is staid; it is, in short, boring. It is definitely not exciting or innovative or extraordinary, and it just doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies that I was hoping for. I will definitely continue to look for an EDC, and will use this until then, but when I find its replacement the Practic by We Knives will be gifted or will find its way into a drawer. You may be won over by We’s Practic, but I, disappointingly, was not.
