The 0180 is based on Rick Hinderer's Fieldtac knife. It's a smaller and lighter fixed blade, yet built to handle tough duties. It has a Vanadis 4 extra powdered steel blade. This tough tool steel is perfectly designed for hard use. It offers excellent wear resistance, good hardness, and is very suitable for coating - which ZT does with Tungsten DLC non-reflective coating. The 0180's handle scales are G-10 for durability and light weight. The handle locks right into the hand and the forefinger contour provides grip security. Heavy jimping on the spine further enhances grip.

Another great ZT blade
Patrick A.
I have been very impressed with ZT since my first 0300. I recently got a 0900 which is perfect.

I have been looking at the 0180 for a LONG time. I bet this knife has been sitting in my wish list for over a year. I finally decided to just order it and I am very pleased.

This collaboration between ZT and Rick Hinderer worked out nice. The over all quality fit and finish is typical excellent ZT quality. Its a great size for me to EDC and isnt overly tactical or scary looking. It fits great in my hand which are medium to large.

I have heard some say this isnt a great slicer or cutter because of the thick stock and grind. I have found its cuts very very well and the factory edge is really sharp out of the box.

I have also heard mixed reviews on the Spec-Ops sheath and that it doesn't fit the knife that well. Yes it is not a tight fit as if it were molded kydex. There some rattle but its designed to be a field knife and I thing the sheath is great. Its secured with a top snap and at least on my sheath the knife sits perfect in it. It looks like the plastic insert has been molded to fit the knife. So no complaints there. The sheath is top notch.

This is an outstanding fixed blade. Its not huge and being a little 4 inches its great to carry with me. (anything under 5.5 inches in my state is legal) Well done ZT and Rick!

This is not a large knife. the handle ergonomics surpass any knife I've ever used. The blade steel is excellent as well, however it is difficult to sharpen, but not impossible.
