Official Statement
Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s PM2 Tanto release.
The response was extraordinary, and we are genuinely grateful for your enthusiasm, patience, and support.
While many customers were able to successfully place their orders, we know others encountered delays, errors, and difficulty completing their purchases.
We did not deliver the smooth, reliable experience we intended for everyone, and we are sincerely sorry.
We invested significant time, effort, and resources into preparing for the demand surrounding this release.
Despite that preparation, parts of the experience did not perform as intended.
We hear your concerns, appreciate everyone who took the time to share feedback, and are reviewing the release so we can make meaningful improvements before the next major drop.
Most importantly, this is not your last opportunity to purchase a PM2 Tanto.
More knives are already in production, and we will share timing and release details as soon as they are confirmed.
Thank you again for hanging in there with us and for continuing to hold us to a high standard.

More PM2 Tantos Are On the Way
This was the first portion of our 2026 PM2 Tanto production run, not the last.
Because of the nature of this drop, we want to be clear on a couple points:
- Production is still ongoing. An additional, larger drop is anticipated later this year. We encourage you to resist the pressure to overpay on the secondary market. Other opportunities to purchase at retail price are coming.
- We want to extend a massive thank you for your interest and patience as we continue to work to fulfill demand for the PM2 Tanto series. In the meantime, keep a close eye on our emails, sign up for texts, and follow our social channels. We will continue to post additional details as they become available.
You all are the best knife community in the world.

FAQ
Are the PM2 Tantos sold out at Blade HQ?
Yes. The first online 2026 drop of Spyderco Paramilitary 2 Tanto knives sold out within 1.5 hours of dropping.
Are the PM2 Tantos returning?
Yes! The PM2 Tantos will be returning. As one of our most wishlisted knives, our goal is to make sure we get one into the hands of everyone who wants one.
We’ll get more of the same black G-10 version with the satin/DLC-finished M4 steel blade.
Should I buy a PM2 Tanto on the secondary market?
We don’t recommend it! Many scalpers will try to use this opportunity to resell a PM2 Tanto to you at an unreasonable price. Rest assured, more PM2 Tantos are coming soon!
When will the next PM2 Tanto drop be?
We don’t have an exact date, but we’re hoping around September 2026. Restocks are largely determined by production timelines that are outside our control. We’re anxiously awaiting more information so we can share it with you!
Does the one-per-person limit mean one knife total, or one of each finish/color?
The limit was one of each variant per customer, meaning you could get either one satin blade, one DLC blade, or one of each.
Why was there a queue to get onto the product page?
We anticipated this drop would put additional strain on our site’s servers. To mitigate that, we implemented a virtual queue that let a certain number of people through at a time to make things as smooth as possible.
Were people able to bypass the queue?
Yes. For a brief time, some people were able to bypass the queue. We quickly identified the problem and corrected it.
Why did my wait time increase? Did people jump in front of me in the queue?
No. The queue was 100% first-in, first-out. The wait time increased as a result of high website traffic slowing the checkout process.
Were bots able to purchase the PM2 Tanto?
No. This is something we take very seriously. Bots were able to enter the queue, but we don’t have any evidence that they purchased inventory.
Will orders that bypassed the queue be canceled?
No. We will not cancel legitimate orders because of an unforeseen issue on our side.
Why couldn’t I complete my purchase even when I reached the front of the queue?
Unfortunately, our servers struggled to handle the volume of traffic during this release, despite the virtual queue. As a result, some customers experienced errors, timeouts, or lost sessions after waiting in the queue, even at checkout. We’re reviewing what caused this so things can be better before the next release.
Could my confirmed order be canceled due to inventory/system errors?
If you received an order confirmation, your order is valid and will ship. That said, we’re investigating any instances where multiple orders were placed by the same account during the release, due to our rule of one of each knife variant per customer. If you have any issues with your order, please contact customer service at [email protected].
I was charged but never got an order confirmation. What do I do?
Contact us at [email protected], and we’ll sort out your order status. No one will be charged for an order they didn’t successfully place.
Will the queue system be used in the next drop?
Yes. The queue system helps our website handle the high traffic that comes with a highly anticipated drop.
Will the next drop have a tiered Blade Club release?
Possible. This is still up in the air.
