Cold Steel's Safe Maker series was designed by Lynn C. Thompson and represents some of the finest push knives in the world. The Safemaker's blade, shaft and T shaped tang are all drop forged from one piece of AUS-8A stainless steel. The stonewash finished blade deserves an equally well-made grip, hence the use of Kraton, a shock absorbing and comfortably grippy surface. The Safe Maker knife comes with a sturdy Secure-Ex boot/belt sheath with clip.
Great dagger. Very sharp and ready to use. Good product.
Great knife sharp right out of the box, multiple mounting options, and my favorite part is that the grip is very comfortable in my hand. Most push knives I tried before are not comfortable in the hand, but on the case with this one.
Picked this up for my girlfriend while she's on the road and I'm impressed. She's one of those 'key between the knuckles' kind of woman, so she she fell in love with the grip and flexibility of it as soon as she held it. No joke- I would not want to be one the receiving end of it. Great product and fast shipping. Thanks.
I really like the larger T handle on this one and the way that it locks into my hand. That is one serious blade. I have tried other push daggers and have found that Cold Steel push daggers just feel better in my hand when I'm training. While fixed blade knives with traditional handles have their challenges as E.D.C. I find these T handle push daggers to be rather wicked at a time when wicked might be just what you need to remedy a situation.
Study the pictures close because I was totally taken back when I flip this thing over and found that I had purchased half of a push dagger. This is totally my fault for not looking closer at the pictures. This is my fourth push dagger, and all the others are two-sided. But can we take a minute to be real here? Who really has ever been in a situation where they use a push dagger for it's intended purpose. Very few. So if I am not using the safe maker to gut baddies...I am buying it for the looks? Yeah, thus the disappointment when it is only half there. Please don't get me wrong, the safe maker feels and works great. The knife is very comfortable to hold, you can tell the ergonomics have been designed with both stabs and slashes in mind. The sheath is high quality, highly compatible, and easy to use. The Safe Maker is sharp and menacing, and I have no doubts about its performance in high-stress situations. Just make sure you get the good side for all the pictures. 61/100
