The Adler Super Splitter is a large splitting maul with a 31.5" handle. The handle is outfitted with a steel collar to protect the handle in the event of an overstrike. The wings on the side of the axe head are made to separate the wood so that it will not be brought back up when the user is pulling the axe up for the next strike.

While relatively new to the American market, Adler axes have been made in Germany since 1919 when village blacksmith Josef Schmitt set out to make high-quality steel products with great heat treats, and they have since grown. Now, the company is run by his descendants, who still strive to make great axes with environmental sustainability in mind.
