Auxiliary MFG x Hypercut MFG Sgian Dubh

The Auxiliary Manufacturing Sgian Dubh, created in collaboration with Hypercut Manufacturing, is a compact fixed blade inspired by a traditional Scottish design.

The sgian dubh (pronounced “skee-an doo”) is a small knife historically associated with Highland dress. Its name comes from Scottish Gaelic, commonly translated as “black knife,” or sometimes "hidden knife", a reference that can point to both its appearance and its discreet, easily carried nature. Traditionally worn in the sock with the handle exposed, it has long been recognized as a simple, practical blade with cultural significance.

This modern interpretation stays true to the compact, streamlined form while updating it with contemporary materials and construction.

The blade is crafted from CPM S35VN stainless steel, offering a strong balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. A variety of handle material options provide both durability and visual character, allowing each piece to feel distinct while maintaining a secure grip.

Each knife is paired with a lightweight, durable Kydex sheath, designed for reliable retention and versatile carry.
