This Bear & Son Butterfly 2 Pack offers a 114BL model butterfly and a 114BL trainer for one low cost. Practice your moves safely with the trainer before moving on to the sharp blade model. These models have blue speckled handles and satin finished blades.
The Bear & Son 114 features a tough blue epoxy coating over the handles. It offers a skeletonized design to reduce weight for smooth flipping action. The stainless steel blades are satin finished with a plain edge and a dull trainer blade. Single tang pin construction provides an excellent flipping platform. The Bear & Son 114BL is a nice mid-range butterfly knife with made in the USA quality!
its my first buterfly knife i hope its nice knife and i hope its the best starter knifes tnx
So this would be my first real balisong. You know, one with a sharp edge? Up until now I have only ever bought trainers. This knife is everything I expected. It's smooth, it's satisfying, and it's well made. It came well-oiled and as I said before, the sounds it makes are oh-so satisfying. Beside quality, the product itself was so worth it. A dual pack for the same price as just one of the same quality of a different color. It's great!!!
These are a great set for someone just starting out, like me, but if you have some experience with flipping you'll want to go with a Bear OPS or Bradley Kimura at least. Pros: -Low price -Nice blade -Sturdy construction -Decent flipping action Cons: -Paint chips around latch and pin areas -Non-adjustable -The trainer blade is heavier than the live blade, making it "nose heavy" in comparison with the live blade. On the whole, this is a great set for a beginner who wants to get their feet wet before buying a pricier bali.
Bought these one sale and I'm fairly happy with the value. Two knives- one with a sharp blade and one with a trainer blade. First, the sharp blade knife has a good fit and finish. The latch stays locked when the knife is open or closed. The handles rotate smoothly and the knife came with a copious amount of oil on it. The only complaint about the sharp knife is the grind on the blade. I'm not going to use these for cutting, they are just for playing with and flipping. But the blade has a definite "bump" along the edge where it looks like it might have been ground a little too far. As far as the practice blade, the fit isn't the same as the other knife. One of the handles is very stiff and I've been working it back and forth for days now and I'm not having much luck loosening it up. A sticking handle is not good for learning flips. I will continue to work the handle and see if I can loosen it up, so I haven't given up on it yet :) All in all, on sale at $48, I am happy with the purchase.
