This one is right up there with the griptilian for me personally. Amazing quality and surprisingly good on price especially for benchmade. Grab them before they're either gone or the price has jumped.
This is my first automatic knife so I can't tell you how it compares to others, but I can tell you Benchmade set the bar extremely high with this knife. It's light enough to carry it and forget about it but the blade is heavy duty enough to do just about anything. I chose Benchmade because I have two really good friends that saw action in Iraq and Afghanistan. They both had Benchmade knifes and won't buy anything else. I can tell you it destroyed Christmas boxes like they were paper, shaved of kindling like a pro, and was still able to slice through paper like a razor blade. I am extremely impressed with this knife 10 of 10 would buy again.
Quick, Sharp and Deadly
This knife hits hard and is noticeably lightweight. Hang on to it because it has flown out of my hand before when snapping open.
I currently have six Benchmade, including two autos, this and the new mediator-I like both, but if I could only keep one, it'd probably be this one-its a little larger, and I prefer the blade shape of the casbah. Both really good autos, fit and finish, lockup and deployment, plus blade centering are all spot on. The mediator is snappier, but the casbah is good in that respect, just not as good. One thing about the casbah is, I'd definitely prefer that in a tactical situation, but for hard use, I would prefer the mediator. And btw, the blacked-out casbah is very popular, Blade Hq has trouble keeping them in stock, if they got it, get it while you can if you want it, otherwise, you might have to wait a while for them to restock Update I have now had this knife for about four months, and out of my six autos, this gets the most pocket time. In fact, out of my around twenty-five mid to high-end edcs, this is in the top six, as most carried,(and I've got some seriously nice knives)-it may not be the best, in any one category, but it's dam good, in ALL categories. As a cuter,I'd give it a nine, weight, maybe an eight, fit and finish,a ten, action,a nine, lockup, this thing is rock solid, ergos,an eight, looks,a ten
This knife is by far the best knife I own. It is the perfect size for EDC. The handle material is just grippy enough so you can hold onto the knife with the snappy auto deployment. The slide safety is just the right stiffness to put your mind at ease. The deep set pocket clip lets the knife ride low and out of sight. The S30V steel blade is just the right combination for toughness and long wear. I don't know how they could improve this knife. It's priced right and comes razor sharp out of the box. Benchmade has a winner here.
Love this knife! Crisp open good blade light weight! Great everyday carry!!
