Fantastic Working Man's knife
Andrew B.
I work as a custodian and I carry two knives, the Freek and the Spyderco Roadie. The roadie is a nice low profile knife that doesn't scare anybody but the Freek is the knife I go for when any work needs to get done. When working on cleaning an old boiler room last summer, I found this knife to be my very best friend. The grip on this knife is unmatched and doesn't slip even when held by a latex glove sprayed with WD-40. CPM-S30V is a phenomenal steel that holds an edge even in some of the harshest conditions. I used this knife to cut off a square of scotchbrite and it can still shave the hair off my arm.

More about the primary feature of this knife, the handle material. This is not the sort of cheap rubber that melts in your hand and sticks to your skin after a hard day of use in the garage. As mentioned above, you can dip this thing in oil and it will still grip your hand so you never have to worry about it slipping.
Good option

Just got this knife at a great price. Was in the market for a griptilian but held this and noticed the extra blade length, grip, and better steel. So far loving it but skeptical on how long the rubber grip will last.
Good Option

I liken this knife as a good option to the ParaMilitary 2. The axis lock is smooth as butter after its worked in and the steel is great. I also found to have liked the grips more than I thought. They are not a sticky type of rubber like my Gerber Gator. They just feel fine and give good traction. All in all, this is not a knife to be overlooked.
The freek

It’s a great knife that has a medium thick blade. that isn’t thick behind the edge. the only problem is the handle is a little to light and gives the knife a little bit of a wacky balancing point.
Awesome knife!

I've had my Freek for a few months now. Great knife! It's great for EDC. The grippy handle is very good in hand but it's a bit of a nuisance when needing to pull your knife out quickly. The S30V blade is solid. No complaints.
Good but not great

I like the knife but it is just too big for my edc but i do like having it for camping and hikeing
Good knife

The blade on this knife is really good, not great but close to it. This only thing i dislike about this knife is that"grippy" rubbery stuff on the handle. It practically pulls your pants up when you get it out of your pocket, and mine is already peeling off. However i don't baby my knives so that could be the reason. Good knife though.
Fantastic Knife

This is a great knife. I can see why some would think it could be replacing the Griptillion. This knife will slice thru anything in front of it. I love the grippiness of the handle. Anyone working near water or humid environments where you'll be sweating all over should have this knife. It won't slip out of the hand. Lock up is perfect and mine had zero blade play. Get this while you can.

The Freek is a great design. It's lightweight, relatively ergonomic, has a decent steel (best steel you can get for $110ish).

Few complaints though.

Not a fan of the plastic construction. I'd much rather spend an extra $10 for full steel liners and G10.

I'd also like to see the peak in the handle be removed so it's just flat allowing it to be far more ergonomic.

Fantastic knife, I own 5 Benchmades (the 560 being the least expensive by far) and yet this is the one I carry most often. Great blade shape, very comfortable handle, fit & finish is flawless. S30V is relatively easy to touch up, and edge out of box was excellent. Carries great, doesn't leave too much out of pocket. Only complaint is that the pocket clip is slightly out of shape, and doesn't even contact the scale. Minor issue. I could fix it myself, I could contact Benchmade's impeccable customer service, but I won't do either of those things because I don't mind it. Great knife.
A great knife and even better value!

I can't say enough good things about this knife. The new handle material is great, especially when combined one of my favorite all around blade steels (s30v) and a very reasonable price. It's the only knife I've liked so much I bought 2 to have a spare for when (and if) I wear the other one out.
A freak for a freak

This is a great knife. I like to think of the as a Ritter griptillian with a slightly bigger blade. The knife cuts really well. My problem with it though is the handle. While it is really light I find kind of slick in the hand. When putting it in or taking it out of my pocket the versaflex will cling to the fabric. I would love maybe a G-10, carbon fiber, or even frn over the grivery to keep the black and grey look. Overall though it's the blade that matters most and the blade is excellent. The knife came perfectly centered and butter smooth. Love this knife
Great knife

This is one of my favorite knives. And it comes at a price you can't beat.

well this knife was great with some minor flaws until earlier today, I lightly hit the back of the balde (or the spine) onto an object it closed, I previously owned a griptilian and I did this lock test 5 times and it stayed open and didn't fail. I'm pretty disappointed that this happened I will return it and I hope to get my money back.

Perfect EDC Blade!

My husband did a Test Video on my blade and I love it! It slices, cuts, pierces, and does everything i need it to and more! It is light, great smooth action, and it cuts and slices like a dream! I cant wait to pick up the Boost! The S30V steel for only $110 is amazing! If you don't like the pocket clip.. contact benchmade.. I have a deep carry clip inbound!
A Great Value

This is an amazing knife from Benchmade. It is basically a griptillian with a better blade shape and an upgraded steel. This is a large knife but carries very small. Mine arrived shaving sharp and perfectly centered. Also lockup is nice and tight. The only real downside I see to the knife is the clip. I have never been a fan of the split arrow clip, but this can be easily fixed by adding a deep carry clip fro Benchmade. Also to note that the handle texture will pick up lint from your pocket because of the gripiness. This is a great blade from a company that has the best customer service in the Biz. Once again BQ provided very prompt shipping.
