The Warren Osborne designed Benchmade 943 is a popular knife for good reason. It's a comfortable everyday carry knife with its slim design, great ergonomics and lightweight. The 943BK has an S30V steel blade with a plain edge and a BK1 black finish. The black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has 410 stainless steel liners and a blue titanium spacer on the handle back with custom ridges. The AXIS lock and reversible pocket clip make the knife usable for right and left handers.

This is one stealthy knife!

This knife totally exceeded all my expectations! I know some folks mention quality issues with Benchmade, but this one was perfect. Super smooth action, Axis lock on point, blade perfectly centered and very sharp… I could go on and on. I showed the knife to a buddy at work and he summed it up when he actually said the knife was “beautiful”. It’s crazy but the blue titanium spacer changes color depending upon the light (sometimes looking dark blue and other times very light). Super cool!

I am not a fan of large folders. I would venture to say that I’m in Ben’s camp when it comes to EDC size. This is the biggest smallest knife I’ve ever had. It sounds cliché but it truly does disappear in the pocket, but has plenty of blade when you need it.

I wanted to point that out that the pocket clip it came with was the satin type, which is a good thing (not painted). The pic doesn’t really show that. I asked Benchmade if they would send me one of the new deep carry clips from the 535 Bugout, but they told me I'd have to wait since that is a new model and clip. I think Hans is onto something with that deep carry clip design.

I'm extremely happy with this knife.
Thin, light, sexy, and capable!

I received this knife from my wife as a gift, and it is one of my most carried knives. It sits really nicely in the pocket, especially with a deep carry pocket clip (I called Benchmade and they sent me one for free!). It's super thin and lightweight but is really capable of any EDC tasks I throw at it. I use it as my dress up EDC, since it carries really easily in dress slacks.
Beautiful EDC

Its not only an incredibly nice looking knife but durable and performing. Its Light weight and cuts amazingly about half the size of my Griptilian but with barely less blade. If you're looking for a higher end Benchmade this thing is the way to go. The handles scrape easy on the corners if your carrying another knife a leatherman or maybe a flashlight, but the scrapes are small and only make the knife look cooler and more worn in. I ordered a Benchmade deep carry Adamas clip and it hides in my pocket completely. This thing does all the tasks my PM2 or any of my knives can but is lighter and thinner. If you have the money pick it up.
The Perfect EDC

I have only had this knife for a month, but given Benchmade's incredible track record, I'm not worried about this knife doing me wrong in the future. First off, the 943BK is an attractive knife from all standpoints. Nothing but black all around (besides the lock). It is wicked fast when deploying, and I always have people asking about this beautiful knife. Its aluminum handles feel good in hand, and the blue back-spacer tops off the knife in terms of looks. Don't get me wrong, this knife isn't in my pocket for display purposes only. I put the S30V blade to work, and it held up very well. It did not take too much work to get it back to hair-popping sharp, and it'll take every little hair off your arm. It slices very well yet the blade is thick enough to withstand a good amount of use. The pocket clip is Benchmade's standard black-painted pocket clip, and yes, the black wears off pretty quick. I wish Benchmade put their split-arrow clip on this knife, but no matter, they'll send you one for free. They're just a phone call away. The real beauty of this knife is the weight. 2.9 oz is killer. For those who carry a 5 oz knife and think "I'll never notice the difference", they're wrong. After carrying the 943BK all day, I picked up my 908 (4.38oz) and it felt like a brick! I love this blade so much. From a tactical standpoint, this is a no. Sure, you can use it,and it will likely work, but it isn't a top choice, it just isn't designed for that task (the 908 or 710 fills that role for me). Overall, this knife is dang near everything you want in a good edc blade. Heavy duty or tactical? No, but trust me, once you get one, you'll find it working its way into your pocket more often than not. -Ian
