The 8551BK Benchmade Mediator holds true to its namesake, mediating simple and lightweight, and durability and strength. The mediator solid and lightweight, employing some of the world's finest knife materials; the handle has G-10 handle scales with a milled chevron pattern and the blade is Cerakote coated CPM-S90V, offering top of the line edge retention. A safety lock on the handle prevents unintentional blade collapse and deployment. The piece is finished with a reversible tip-up, deep carry pocket clip and a lanyard hole. Pre-Ordered this for myself liking how it looked from previews. Very Impressed. Zero play in the action at all degrees of open. Lock is easy to operate and gives you an audible click when moved in the on or off position. Handle only flexes when i put an unreasonable amount of pressure on it. I dont have the biggest hands, but the handle fits well in my hand and is comfortable. The serrations on the back of the handle gives your thumb a locked in feel when pressing down on it. I enjoy really enjoy the reverse tanto blade on this knife, and it gives it a unique look. All in all I really enjoy the knife i think it very well constructed. Overall i would give a 8.5/10
