Customer Reviews

Great Knife
William B. on Oct 31, 2019

This knife looks good on online and in person. The knife is light, it's pretty neat. Handle feels good. Build quality looks and feels good. I give it a high recommendation.

Beautiful knife

This is a perfect companion for my 940-1.. just as smooth and gorgeous. S90v steel is ridiculously good. It will loose its hair shaving ability, but the working edge will stay for what seems like forever. Still makes quick work of anything I put it up against even after daily use for 6ish months as of now. If you’re reading this, pull the trigger already! You won’t regret it!

Flawless

This knife is pure perfection. It was a gift from my best friend, and it will be with me until I die. The ergonomics are absolutely amazing. It just fits perfectly. I’ve read numerous reviews about blade centering issues, but that’s not the case with mine. This is also probably the nicest looking knife I own. The blue accents are beautiful. Opening this thing is butter smooth, and I tend to pull back on the lock to flip it out instead of using the thumb stud. It closes just as easily. I don’t carry it as much as I’d like to, because as a painter, I don’t want it covered in paint. It is my go to edc when out with the family though. I’ve always been leary about spending that kind of money on a knife, but receiving it as a gift, I won’t hesitate to spend it on a Benchmade in the future.

My Favorite Benchmade

This is the best Benchmade I've ever handled. The ergonomics are phenomenal and the fit and finish is spot on. Super sexy design and even better function. The S90V blade is killer for EDC. A must have!!

First but not last Benchmade

I was all over the Hinderer X18 but I have a buddy DynaMikey that showed me his Nakamura, told me about his experience with them as a company taking care of their customers and how BladeHQ was the place to get it. Well received it today and blade centered perfectly, action perfect and smooth and of course very nice edge. I will update if any problems arise that need reported on. As for BladeHQ the service that I received after the online order, professionalism on the phone was to put it simply is above any online purchase I have had to date. Been online since the early 90' BTW. I created an issue by reversing my work and billing address, they called me and within seconds the problem was resolved and items shipped. It was a great example of taking ownership and providing assistance well past what I had expected.

Fantastic!

The blade shape is wonderful to use, the jimping was done wonderfully. The scales and standoffs are a match made in heaven. Keeps a nice edge and sharpens up easily.

Yes.

Smooth as silk opening, awesome S90V. You seriously can't go wrong with this knife.

This blade rocks. The s90v holds an edge for a very long time. The carbon fiber is beautiful. The handle to blade ratio is very good. You can't go wrong with knife. Thanks Blade HQ.

Don't think, Do. Buy it, think when using though.
Brian F. on Jul 16, 2015

First off; Blade HQ service, #1, free shipping and it came early (!). I had a concern with an earlier purchase and of course they were willing to make it absolutely right. Second; the 484-1. After an hour of "break-in" (playing with it, opening and closing, slicing phone book paper, etc.) it is better than butter smooth. Given the fair price, I am blown away with the great experience that is the Nakamura 484. Love the carbon fiber, love the stone wash, love the OEM sharpness, love the blade profile and love the lock. The blue accents are a nice plus. Blade centering is very slightly off to the the show side but damn it's a production blade. Compared to some other small folders I own, this is right up there with my Mini Samaritan and Micro Praetorian in terms of utility and aesthetics. Maybe it's just a honeymoon but I'm going to be carrying this a LOT. Third, update 8-7-15. It spent a week back at Benchmade to correct the blade centering which grew worse with use. It came back better, but still off-center. Looks like thread locker was used on the pivot as it hasn't loosened up yet. Also, WATCH that thumb stud, it will act like an Emerson "wave" and open the blade on a sloppy draw out of a pocket. Still a great knife but I knocked off a star for these two issues.

Awesome!

Great knife, it opens like butter. You need to try and NOT open it, it takes no effort. Blade is centered, the carbon fiber is nicely done. The shape of the blade really helps in combo with the jimping. It easily became a favorite as I carry it everyday. The only flaw in my eyes is the thumb stud. It will catch your pocket and open the knife. Not sure why. I believe its because the studs are to long.
