Customer Reviews

A perfect EDC knife!
Ray C. on Mar 29, 2018

I've carried my Stimulus for over 16 years now,and had to send it in once after five years to have the spring repaired. It took about 3 months turn around time but I've never had any problems with it since. It has some appreciable wear as you can imagine.I had since purchased a polymer handled version as well as the updated version. My concern with the current version is the thin blade, which is a legitimate gripe. All 3 versions of this model I own are top notch and I would recommend this knife strongly.

What a great knife
Michael M. on Jun 26, 2022

This is a perfect little EDC. Smaller than I would usually carry, but an absolute workhorse capable of taking whatever is dished out. Carried it for weeks at work, always functional, and kept its edge.

Real pocket pal
Michael E. on Mar 16, 2018

I have carried and used this knife every day for almost a year without any major issues. The slight blade play it developed after several months (and thousands of openings) was fixed with a small drop of locktite and has never returned. The blade is a little thin for heavy tasks, but mostly because the dagger style blade makes it uncomfortable to press your thumb in the spine. 154CM is a high quality steel and I have little concern about chipping or breaking. I do consider this an indoor knife, however, I take it fishing with me all the time. Perfect line snipper, very pocket friendly, completely reliable.

Improvments?
Tyler K. on Jan 7, 2018

For the “improvments” that were made to the original 3550, this knife is still overpriced. The blade is super thin and if anything this knife is just a “tactical” letter opener. I’d be too afraid to use it for anything else, fearing the blade would snap!

Tiny thin Knife
Dr. A. on Jun 15, 2022

I have always carried the Benchmade Pardue Axis...and really enjoyed it, so I thought I would give the Stimulus a try, thinking it was just an automatic version of the Pardue Axis...not so much. The Stimulus is a very small thin bladed knife, its labeled as a Black Series (which Benchmade states are for tactical use)...having been a soldier for over 23 years...would not carry this into combat. Not worth the money, if you really need a tactical automatic I would lean towards the Gerber 06 Automatic...now that's a knife! This one will stay in the box and added to the collection of none users. Many tactical automatics out there that are a much better value. Key word in the description is "Small Size"

Great knife, BUT
KAVIN W. on Sep 12, 2022

This is a great knife, but I am disappointed in the feel of the push button and the lock, whenever they are pressed or engaged they both feel like they are scraping. I have Protech and Piranha autos and the buttons are crisp feelings. The button and lock on this Benchmade leave me having regrets.
