Description

Designed by renowned knife maker Lucas Burnley, this push-button Boker Kihon is a Blade HQ exclusive model that's been tricked out with an aftermarket coil spring for hard-hitting automatic action!

"Kihon" is the Japanese term for the basic techniques of several martial arts. With tactical aim and some far eastern flare, the Boker Kihon is worthy of its name. This tactical/EDC knife is destined to become a classic.

The black coated AUS-8 blade has a sweeping edge that makes slicing a breeze. Designed with traditional Japanese swords in mind, the handle has a rayskin texture that provides a good grip while not tearing up the pocket.

Features:
  • AUS-8 drop point blade is easy to sharpen and cuts like a dream
  • Rayskin textured aluminum handle is tough and ergonomic
  • Powerful and reliable automatic action

First let me say that I really like the shape and size of the Kihon. However, it turns out that ALL Bokers sold by Blade HQ are produced in-house. The button to open this knife is very hard to push all the way in and if you don't push it JUST RIGHT it will get stuck about 3/4 of the way in and then it's even harder to push the rest of the way. I contacted customer service and was told that because they are produced in-house, that's just the way they are. This was not communicated at all in the Item Description, otherwise I would have chosen another knife.

Hopefully the button becomes easier with a little more use. I have only opened and closed it about 50 times so far. If so, I will update this review.

This is my 6th Boker auto. I have 3 Kalashnikovs, a Strike, and a Magnum. I love all of them. But the Kihon is my favorite. Sharp, solid and fast. You can't beat it for the price.
Excellent!

In my view, this Boker Burnley Kihon is the single best value in an auto anywhere.
I got one from BladeHQ a couple months ago and have been nothing but thrilled and impressed by the quality and design of this knife. Once the blade is deployed, the handle feels great in my hand which is important for me. Donít think twice, go for this one.

I was skeptical about getting an auto knife at that price. And for my surprise, this Boker is awesome. Well constructed, very nice and clean and snappy. I am very happy with this purchase. Very fine product and the price is very good. If you are looking into the automatic world and want to try it first without hurting your wallet, this is the right knife. Slick, looking good knife and sharp.... very sharp.

Had this knife for about a week now and I gotta say it's great all around! The aluminum scales are sturdy and grippy with the texturing. I love the snappy action on it as well. The blade has been put to good use as well, and I can see myself getting a lot of mileage out of this Boker.
Great Buy

Have been wanting the reliability of a Boker auto for a while, but the looks on the Kalashnikov were not all there and the Strike was too tactical for me. Once the Kihon was released, I had to grab it. Knife fires with great action and the looks are killer. Great quality and a great price. Highly recommend if in the market for an auto.

This is a absolute must have for a EDC, it rides well in the pocket "being thin" but is well built with a positive snap when deployed. Blade length and shape is perfect for almost every situation, and holds a edge extremely well.
