Got this knife as a gift and could not be happier. It snaps open like my Kalashnikov. I like that it is slim and fits in the pocket well with the deep carry pocket clip. Mine was new out of the box and very sharp and had no blade play. The blade is a great shape for every day task like opening mail, tearing down boxes, and cutting fruit, which is all I have gotten a chance to use it for so far. I can definitely see this auto getting a ton of pocket time this year. I Highly recommend.
I like the shape of the handle and blade. The OD green is nice also. It kinda disappears in my pocket so great for EDC. The blade geometry, besides looking good, works well for my usual tasks. The edge needed some sharpening out of the box but touched up nicely with just a little effort. My biggest concern was the button. It was gritty and I had to use my thumbnail to push it far enough to launch the blade, the first 15-20 times I tried it. But I kept fidgeting with it and it has smoothed out nicely. That's why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars;.a 5 star knife is perfect out of the box. I'd recommend this knife to anyone who wanted an automatic knife for under $100.
Box arrived with the tamper seal broken and gouges in the foam. There’s damage around the pivots and several other spots on the handle fresh out of the box. Wish I could like this knife but the state it arrived in is subpar imo and this offering isn’t worth the price hike over other Boker autos. All of this paired with the 5 day order confirmation time has left a sour taste in my mouth in regards to this product and bladehq in general. At the end of the day Boker makes a solid product, hopefully this is an isolated incident.
First, I want to express my disappointment with BladeHQ for sending me an open and obviously used knife. Seems the knife was used for photos as it was just released and I doubt its a return this early on. Aside from being sent a used product when I clearly purchased a NEW product, the issues with the knife are lengthy. Build quality is sub-par at best, either due to being a used knife or just shoddy build from boker but I received the knife with blemishes on the scales. Blade side to side movement is HUGE, roughly +-2 or 3 mm back and forth from tip. Not sure if thats due to being an auto or not but my other automatics dont have nearly this much side to side blade movement. The one good thing this knife has going for it is its firing is very strong but this too can be a bad thing as it almost requires two hands to close. Not quite, but almost. I ended up returning it.
