Customer Reviews
Pros:
Beautiful, works well, affordable, good grip.
Cons:
Pivot needed a little adjustment.
Neutral:
Size. Its a big knife, so it may not be for everyone
Right side tip down carry only. All depends on what you like
The grip is comfortable too; it's shaped well; feels like a metal Cold Steel Voyager in the hand.
I couldn't tell from the pix whether the mermaid is glued on or integral with the blade. She's integral!
Even the 440A steel is not bad. It's not state-of-the-art any more, but it's not bad. It doesn't dull immediately when whittling or something.
I wished for a tip up pocket clip, but if it was carried that way, the grip pattern on the back and the protruding flipper would really be uncomfortable.
Give this knife a try. It's not going to give your Manix 2 a run for the money in terms of EDC, but it is a LOT better than just a novelty.
It is also pretty heavy. Weak detent means I need some wrist to get the flipper...um, tail?... to work. Maybe some break in will help.
Mine came nicely centered and reasonably sharp.
Fun conversation piece!
Cheers!
The fit and finish is really good for the price. It was more solid than I expected. You could use it if you were willing to take it out of the safe. I wouldn’t do that though.
The mermaid adorns both sides of the blade, and the flipper is a flipper while the knife scales are scales. The rainbow coloring hypnotizes you.
My daughter thinks it's pretty, and that's reason enough to own it.
The 440A blade is butter-knife dull, and I'll probably leave it that way. Once I adjusted the pivot tension, it flipped into position easily.
It's large and sort of heavy. The pocket clip sits so close to the body that it doesn't work correctly.
Nothing about this knife makes sense, which means that you obviously should buy one now!
The best thing about this knife, being my first Boker, was the packaging. It includes a very nice embossed tin that should hold a much more expensive knife!
Clunky flipper action with a decent liner lock makes this a great box opener. Any kind of hard use scratches the coating on the nicely shaped blade.
This knife is especially for show, and is quite heavy. It has found its way all the way to the bottom of my girlfriend’s purse!
Turns out it a great knife for the price I carry it as my daily beater knife now. the only drawback is it's pretty heavy if that's something that bothers you might want to pass.
She don't want to flip out without a little wrist action, but once she's out, you can admire her totally. The size of the blade is pure combat, and the handle fills your hand with confidence. Awesome to be held.
Boker has made the most awesome pocket knife ever! 5 solid Stars, and I would buy another, maybe for a real good friend.
