Looking for a large EDC knife?

Then look no further! For those of us with large hands will appreciate a knife like the Squail. The handle fills the hand very well and the Micarta scales give a wonderful almost tacky grip to give you piece of mind that this knife isn't going anywhere when you are using it. It's long slim design tucks well into the back of the pocket so it will still allow you to hold other stuff. the clip while stubby does its job well. But the best part is the blade and man o man what a blade! This knife arrived scary sharp! The flipper hole is well placed and allows rapid deployment with a positive lock up {although mine was a bit sticky, but a little graphite pencil cured that}. This fills the void for large knife guys OR gals that want a big blade but don't want the bulk that goes with it.

Great knife at this price, even at the old price

I'm not sure why this wasn't more popular, maybe Boker just isn't that hot. The blade shape is great, and the stonewashed 440 looks great. It sharpened up nicely- the factory edge was meh. But you know how nice 440 sharpens. So far it's keeping an edge well. There were a couple of fuzzy spots on the handle scales. A touch with a piece of sandpaper, a shave with a razor blade, and perfect. The micarta is nice- it's not overly smooth, it's a bit rough affording a better grip and feel. Not like some where it's so shiny it feels plasticky. I really like the feel of the scales. Pivot is a touch snug. I haven't messed with it yet. Locks up tight, good blade centering, smooth pivot despite the snugness, feels great in hand, easy to deploy. Smallish pocket clip but it holds on well and carries at a good height. Even my GF says it's a handsome knife. It's not too heavy, but feels nice and solid. Blade reminds me a bit of the big Benchmade Skirmish, same sort of feel, but a bit smaller. Still a very full size, usable real world tool. The $109 price got me to click "buy" but now that I have it, I'd have paid $179 happily if I had known it was this nice.

So much potential

The knife is beautiful, fits the hand perfect and has great feel besides usual boker sharp edges. The reason the knife falls short of 5 stars is the lock up is sticky even after graphite and pivot comes lose after a day, throwing the center off and blade play develops. I will try lock tight to fix problem. Once again Boker comes so close making a perfect knife but falls just short.
