The Boker Strike is now outfitted with D2 tool steel for longer lasting cutting power!
This Blade HQ Exclusive Boker Plus Strike features a black finished drop point blade and a textured OD green aluminum handle.
The Boker Strike is a slim and sleek automatic conversion knife with swift push-button action. It has a contoured aluminum handle with sturdy stainless steel liners and is designed with a dedicated index finger groove and thumb groove for excellent ergonomics. As noted, the push button releases the blade with a strong precision-fit coil spring for hard-hitting action. Just beside the firing button is a safety slide to prevent misfires. Everyday use is accommodated with a deep, reversible tip-up or down carry pocket clip.
Customer Reviews
THE PROS:
- ERGONOMICS: Fits very well in hands making it very easy to handle.
- BLADE ACTION: Very swift and responsive blade action. You'll find yourself firing this blade often for no particular reason.
MATERIAL: D2 blade steel making this quite the upgrade from AUS-8. Decent blade retention. I have yet to sharpen this knife so I cannot comment on ease of sharpening.
POCKET CLIP: Deep and strong pocket clip making it easy to remove and replace in your pocket along with keeping it very secure.
THE CONS:
- PAINT WEAR: After less than 2 weeks of carrying this knife, the pocket clip has had some paint chip off along with some noticeable wear to the aluminum handle.
- SAFETY SLIDE/LOCK: The safety slide/lock had unlocked and eventually caused the blade to fire all while still in my pocket. This only happened once.
Overall this Boker Strike is a GREAT value. Decent quality for less than $50! A perfect everyday carry knife without breaking the bank and worrying about damaging an expensive alternative. I would highly recommend!
The locking mechanism has never failed. The ability to swap pocket clip location is a bonus that I used. Rugged and reliable, fits great in the hand, and I like the shape of the hilt to keep your hand from wandering into the blade.
Now, my only complaint is the hardness. I do not see where any R numbers are stated, and I suspect the blade is not properly heat treated. It sharpens too easily for a hardened D2 tool steel. and It will not retain that nice razor sharpness for long. If not for that, it would be a five star knife all day long.
Now the bad.... quality control needs improvement. When I unpacked this knife I was pretty disappointed. The blade centering was way off, the pivot had a ton of play, the safety was stiff as can be and the blade had a small chip in it. I was able to correct all of this with lube, adjustments, and sharpening but you should not have to with a brand new knife. Boker usually has good QC so maybe i just got a one off and i decided to fix it up myself instead of exchanging it. Now that its fixed up it is a handy knife and the D2 seems harder than most of my other D2 knives. For the price I think it is a decent value even with having to fix the above issues.

First reply suggested loosening the pivot. The solution turned out to be the opposite, though, as apparently there was too little resistance. The blade was bouncing off the stop faster than I could let up the button. When I loosened it, the problem got worse, so I tightened it a bit, and now the blade locks every time in every launch position. I'll keep my tools and T8 Torx bit handy, though, as I suspect this may need to be adjusted from time to time.
So this is a "qualified" 5-star review, subject to either getting one properly adjusted from the factory, or the buyer having a set of Torx tools.
