I have been an avid knife carrier for some 40 years. I have purchased some $150 plus knives that I like and enjoy but this Boker plus strike is everything you could want in an EDC. Reliable tuff good looking fun all for under $50. I am glad I decided to get one will probably even get another though I really don’t need another knife but that hasn’t stoped me yet.
I was very excited about getting a higher end knife. The locking slide was loose and would not stay in the closed position-it sort of moved freely. I did have this engraved and was going to give it for a gift but I do not want to give something that does not function update customer service is 100%. I will purchase all of my knives from them.
I’m not sure you can buy a better auto for less than $43. The knife is very snappy. I would be curious if they could make this exact knife using G10. That would be amazing! The locking mechanism rattles a bit and I wish it was not there at all but it is not a reason to rate this product anything less than a 5 star. Great knife!
The knife itself is sold, well balanced, and ergonomic. The release has an excellent amount of tension and the blade snaps open quickly and with a positive lockup. I would have paid quite a bit more for this knife and been just as happy with it. For the price, it can't be beat.
Very well made and quality knife. Opens well with a very clean action.
I'm absolutely pleased with this knife. It's exceptionally well built and looks great. In the words of Crocodile Dundee "Now that's a Knife"!
This knife is solid! Tolerances seem tight for the price and the blade opens strong. Good knife for the money.
I have bought several knife lately this one is my favorite. Well engineered. Well constructed. Quality. Affordable. Well done Boker.
I just purchased this knife and I absolutely love it. For being a $40 knife it has great action and fits very well in the hands. it has very little to no blade play and is basically a more tactical Kalashnikov
Have not had long, but seems to be a well made knife. Some buyers say it did not come sharp out of the box but mine did.
This knife does not disappoint (so far)! My expectations have been met or exceeded for the price point.
Obtained this knife from a friend, one of the best knives I've ever owned!
This is an excellent auto. Built tough, strong spring, lock up is great. The safety is tight,no wobble.Firing button is stiff, which I like,no accidental firing. No complaints or problems with this beast.Even got it personalized. I would not hesitate to buy another. If you want a knife to stay "pretty"..buy one, put it in a case, stare at it,and never use it.
You know it might not be a benchmade or a microtech but come on guys it’s $40. This thing is a freaking awesome toy. Yea it has some issues like the safety wobbles (take it apart and tighten the screw) the blade is aus-8 ( not the best but mine came wicked sharp). But for $40 bucks you are getting an auto that kicks like a mule and has the most satisfying ting from the pocket clip when you pull it out. No this isn’t an every day carry but it’s something you can play with and show off to your non knife friends
Fantastic action, solid safety. The only thing I wish it had was a carry option for left hand tip up. The grip on it is great with nice jimping for your thumb.
Got two of these in different colors for my brothers for christmas. They are great knives with very powerful and fast opening. They open so fast they almost have a little recoil. Make sure you have a good grip on it when you click the button.Love the size, perfect for carrying.I also think this is the best shaped knife i have ever seen. Highly recommend this knife!
amazing action and great sharp blade with a great feel and look. i heard this had a new spring so i figured i would get it over a kal and it did not disappoint. handed it to my father and it almost flew out of his hand. keep a hold of it when your opening it. major props to boker and bladehq for gettin it to me in a great time and in a great box. 5 stars all day!!
The description says the blade is made of D2 steel, however the blade has "AUS-8" printed on it. Nevertheless, I like the knife!
The ONLY reason it's not 5 stars is because it's just a little heavy - due to aluminum scales (perhaps I'll find some custom G10's). Loved it so much I bought another!
Hey everyone first I wanted to say that I just got my knife 2 days ago so it's brand new. Because of how new it is I am hopeful that depressing the auto mechanism button will get easier with time and use. Because right now I am finding it a little difficult to open the blade with the auto button. Other than this button difficulties I am really enjoying the knife it has great weight balance and a good tactile feel. It is my first Biker made knife as well as my first auto. I have a decent collection of assisted open Kershaw knives like the Kershaw Link and the Blur. But I have never owned an auto so I have high hopes for my Boker.
That's right I said it! dollar for dollar the Strike has everything you get from the Kalashnikov and in my opinion it is more comfortable in hand. 4 stars because the painted aluminum scales start showing distress as soon you open the box. (may be a plus for some)
So far it's a great knife. Solid construction, good action, overall very solid for 40 bucks.
This and the Kalashnikov are the best autos for the money! Brown coating on handle wore off rather quickly in some areas on mine
Cons - Needs to be sharpened out of the box - Very weak safety (see below) - Push button release will eventually need to be replaced because it rubs against the blade Pros - Cheap - Ergonomic - Snappy action I fixed my weak safety by disassembling the knife and adding a slight bend to the small tab containing the detent that rubs against the safety switch. It took a few minutes to do, but it made the knife SO much better to use. The safety no longer disengages when I put the knife into my pocket. I would buy this knife again, and would highly recommend it. For the price, it's great. I use it a lot for work and around the garage and am certain it will hold up for at least a few years of hard use.
Excellent auto for a very reasonable price. I would of gave it 5 stars but the blade was not very sharp upon receiving. It did sharpen well, and the aus-8 steel continues to hold an edge for general use. Overall worth the small investment.
Pros: strong action, affordable Cons: color coating started to wear out after a week
This is a great knife for Boker Plus ! I would have given it 5 stars, except for one thing! The pocket clip, sucks!! It reminds me of the original Microtech D.O.C clip! Sticks out way too far, and creates a hot spot in the hand, and snag on everything! This is only my opinion,it may be different for you, and I have large hands! The new spring mechanism is great! I've bought 2, but that pocket clip......
Knife is probably fine, but I require a stout locking mechanism. This knife has a very weak locking mechanism. It just flops around with a very weak detent. Not sure I can use it. Was going to try to fix it, but I don't have small enough bits to take it apart. Prolly going to return it.
So if you want a knife worth your money get something like an onterio rat 1 or spiderco tenacious. Because after about a week of pocket carry the paint started to flake off the aluminum handles. The deployment button rubs aginst the blade on the inside scratching the lock up mechanism. Also the blade has severe side to side play that my torx bits arn't able to tighten.. almost like it's already been over tightened. But the knife looks cool and flys open quickly and with authority. It doesn't feel like I would hold up under everyday use for a working man, who actually uses his tools.
Blade and handle are constructed well, however, the safety mechanism is a deal-breaker. Do not buy this until Boker makes a better safety.
