I have carried and abused this awesome little 5th pocket knife for going ng on 5 years !!! I am in construction so it pulls utility knife duty when one isn't at hand ( today it was a screwdriver in an attic and I forgot my impact, no chipping). The d2 blade holds up an edge well. The OD handle has taken on a great pocket and hard use patina that adds a certain rugged charm. A great buy for a useful fun little big knife.
You need this knife. Don’t even think twice about that add to cart you’ll never look back. That is if it’s legal to have one of these bad boys in your area. Make sure to check that before ordering. But on to the knife itself. Super compact but with enough handle and jimping in the right places to feel super secure then getting a good grip. The fire button is a pretty decent size without being too big. And the spring behind it is strong enough to keep it from most accidental misfires. The lock is nice and clicky. I’ve had many a switch lock that sort of floated and didn’t have any real detention to hold them in place. Love the blade shape as I do a lot of intricate wood work and close up edc tasks so it works perfectly. Nice ramps on both sides to stop and sliding forward of the hand. Deep carry clip is a plus. Scale texturing is clean and will wear in well. My only cons would be that the spring under the button sounds a bit creaky. But I’ll give it some time to work in and if not maybe a small drop of oil could help. Also a word of advice. Seen a few guys taking the springs out thinking it will make it carry legal in their non-auto knife area. This is a big no no as it essentially turns it into a gravity knife which is federally illegal. These knives don’t have a detent to stop the blade from coming out. Rant over. TLDR, get one while they last!
Nice snappy action, good grip purchase under thumb, short handle i.e. No pinky room, very sturdy built, ergonomic safety placement and function.
Awesome action, cali legal, great knife overall
Just received my stubby strike today and I'm very happy with the purchase. The knife itself is very well made. The handle is very comfortable to hold and the copper coating looks really nice on the blade. I work in IT and I open a good amount of boxes every day. I wanted something that was small enough for EDC and was subtle/sleek. First order from BladeHQ was a success. I'll definitely be buying more knives here in the future!
Really wish this was AUS8 or AUS10, vs. the D2, But thats just me. Quality little knife, and barely got one before they were al gone. Fast open for sure. Did not come very sharp, I had to put a Wicked Edge, edge on it. Nice for about everyone, don't have to be from wackofornia, to like a shorty blade. REALLY hoping I'll get a email from BHQ stating they are all back in stock. I'd like to have one of each color scheme. There's a few other small peeves, like the open design isn't my favorite. But I can live with it. Don't buy any of these.....so I can get a shot if they ever come available again.
Very compact, deploys super quick. Working to break it in.
The knife is nice in size for an EDC, but the clip feels too small and narrow making it a difficult fit into the pocket. The knife is very snappy which is nice, but the button is too small and too hard to press down. The safety is also difficult to switch making the process of opening the knife take too long. Probably would not purchase again I might just be comfortable with the Boker mini.
