This Blade HQ Exclusive Boker XXL Kalashnikov features a black D2 bowie blade and a black aluminum handle.
The Boker XXL Kalashnikov is big. It's really big! It's so big it warranted a new box, a new handle shape, and a new aftermarket spring. This beastly Blade HQ Exclusive is a great option for a tactical knife, a self-defense knife, or a real statement of an EDC. The enormous Bowie blade is made of tough D2 tool steel, and the handle is made of aluminum. Add a huge automatic to your collection today!

I really do love the action on this knife. I am about to order another one.
The large blade opens with an authiritative "thwack". Watched some reviews from nearly a year ago, all I can think is Boker increased their quality control as mine had no play or stick. Bought two, one for a friend as at this price point, why not. I got the green with bronze blade and all blacked out versions. Both came out of the box (shapped like an AK magazine) working perfectly. Great work guys!
I waited four months to see it come back in stock. Snapped it up and it was out of stock again 5 minutes later - Boker needs to make more of these, maybe even in a spearpoint! I don't have huge hands, so it IS a bit big for me normally, but with gloves on in the winter freeze we've had recently it's actually the perfect size. This thing is dead nuts reliable. I've had it out in the freezing cold, over a hot flame, cutting rope, tape, and all manner of gnarly things, and it. just. works. It's stupid, it's big, it fits perfectly in my heavy cotton sweatpant pockets, and it's replaced the SOG Trident as my EDC knife. And I was able to shave my arm hair with it out of the box. Not bad at all.
I was pleasantly shocked when I received this beauty from the blade gods. It's absolutely thrilling to feel this beast fire open. It's really impressive how such a huge blade flings open like the smaller autos. It's easily one of my favorite autos. It's ridiculously--even hilariously--huge, and I LOVE IT! Glad to see D2 steel over the AUS8 typically used on the original Kalashnikovs. Also, unlike the regular Kalashnikov, I'm really glad there's only one finger groove. This probably allows more people to adjust for their hand size despite being gargantuan. I've been a Boker automatic fan, but I'm quickly becoming a fanatic. Keep up the great work, Boker!
My first kalashnikov was it's smaller cousin, good knife felt like an upgrade to the XXL. You know this knife is in your pocket, love the deep carry clip, good action on opening the blade, so far locks 100% of the time. Feels good in the hand as big as it is. Like the shape of the blade, not especially sharp but that can be resolved easily. You do want a secure grip when opening, the blade is 4.75 long and a little snappy on opening. A secondary lock to prevent unwanted opening would be a nice to have. Never had one of these open accidentally, but not my typical EDC. Would recommend this knife.
I had bought another one, but it had a weak spring. So I returned it and got another. This one fires perfectly and completes my Kalashnikov collection. Great customer service on the return from Blade HQ.
Great auto. Fits in my jeans pocket and sticks up far enough to grab easily. Shaped and built just like its little brothers from Boker. Just the right kick - big blade would knock it out of your hand if it were really strong. Boker got the balance correct IMHO. Can't beat the price. Another winner from BladeHQ.
very well built just like their smaller versions nice packaging this knife is a handfull
This is Boker is straight so ridiculous that it's 100% necessary. It's seriously everything you love about the Kalashnikov (human size), but with D2 steel and designed by Paul Bunyan.
This is a big auto. Opens with authority. Solid blade and build. Good price, and comes in a neat box styled like an AK mag.
D2 sharpened and after a few minutes on leather strap very sharp! I love Escima ,Kali and this handles great EDC for me it's large but feels great in my pocket . If you like Cold Steel this it in that category BIG and BAD great balance very pleased. Thanks Wolf40
This is the best auto for the price. Was going to add an aftermarket lock made for Boker’s , But after I was playing with it notched that the button below the handle. But my finger nail on my thumb did the trick .
imagine you're being mugged, and you pull this out. the robber'll give you HIS wallet.
Great except a few things. There's a little bit of blade wobble, the blade didn't come sharp, and the edge retention isn't the best.
I’ve had this knife for almost 2 months now, and it worked great as my work/“beater” knife; I beat the hell out of this knife, and I couldn’t be happier with how it performed. That was my opinion on it until yesterday when I had my first critical failure using this knife when the plunge lock got pushed out of the slot by the spring and got lodged in place. I was able to fix the problem after taking it apart and resetting the springs, but then the pocket clip snapped off. I decided to say f it and just completely customize the knife using a wire wheel and turn it into a non-locking knife. Now it is aesthetically pleasing to the point it’s worth not having the damn pocket clip. Long story short, I recommend you get this knife if you’re going to use it for work. As long as you don’t beat the ever-living hell out of it, you should have it forever, like most people have their Kalashnikovs.
This is a big knife. Spring is fast and strong. Fits my small hand due to well thought out construction. Priced right and well made. My new carry knife. Only complaint is sharpness. Not dull but could be sharper out of the box. Recommended
It works for me because I am a large man. Smaller folks might have a hard time fitting it into your pocket or manipulating it. I am enjoying it.
strong spring deployment for a big blade and not to heavy for its size.the aluminum handle scales are grippy and feel good in hand.good looking bowie shaped blade of sharp d2.now for the bad, after even requesting that they dont open my box and play with my knife before they send it to me my box is open with fingerprints on my knife.secondly boker needed 2 more jimps on the blade spline for thumb traction.why would you only put 2 jimps on the blade spline when at least 4 would be best.i knock off one star for the lacking of 2 jimps
It came very dull. I can’t cut anything
Unfortunately, I can't give 4 or 5 stars. Spring seems a little weak. I compare it to multiple other Boker knives I have purchased. I do my own test. I use my leg to stop a knife from opening, and then move it away and see if it still snaps open, My 5 other Boker knives pass the test. Not this one. The spring pressure doesn't open it to locking position. Other than that it seems to be OK. Spring strength needs improvement.
I ordered 2 bokers, the Kalashnikov dagger and this one. The dagger is great, opens with a snap. This one on the other hand is very weak opening.
