Big Knife!

This is a manís knife! Hefty and razor sharp. The sheath is nicely crafted and locks the blade into place. The handle is big but so is the blade. This is definitely an American classic.
Classic knife...

Just wanted to write a quick review of this beauty. A full tang classic offering from Buck. This is a large knife, there's no way around that. It isn't built for the tactical scene or anything like that. It's built for hunting and outdoors use with an older mindset where weight, or the feeling as though the tool is an extension of your arm were not in the forefront of people's minds like it is today. By no means is this an uncomfortable knife to hold. In fact I enjoy its size. The handles wrap nicely around the full tang blade. Speaking of the blade, it's thick and demands respect. The finish on the blade is shiny and attractive. I agree--the point of the blade is not needle-like when compared to the Buck 119, but it's plenty adequate. If you want a nice large knife that is USA made with a rich history...look no further. This one has what you need, and its price is very attractive.

This is a beautiful and sturdy knife. Buck does a great job with its heat treatment as i can put a hair popping edge on the blade which is 420HC. I have skinned deer with it and taken it backpacking with me. It's down fall is the weight (handle is broad but i have larger hands so it was comfortable). It's fine for a hunting trip i want something solid and heavy duty i can chop and skin with, however on my backpacking trip I considered leaving my hatchet to consolidate the weight. I took it with me last summer to porcupines mountains which is heavy bear country and rough terrain and it did everything I could ask of it. However when I'm with my girlfriend and have a heavier pack to carry as she doesn't like roughing it as much as I I prefer something little lighter. For heavy duty woods use i would give it 4/5 stars. Docking it for weight and lack there of a fine point tip which is good for dressing a deer. All around it is a mans knife...

Knife is nice but the handle is like holding a brick. Probably ok if you have really large hands.
