Description

Description

Though its half the size of the popular Buck 110 Folding Hunter, The 55 knife has the same solid construction and lockback, yet it is easy to slip in the pocket for everyday carry. It has a hollow ground 420HC steel clip point blade with nail nick opener. The brass handle is fitted with rich American Walnut wood. Made in the USA

Very neat little knife. Much like a 110 that was shrunk down. For being a small knife, it's got some heft to it due to the brass liners and bolsters. You can really tell that Buck has a great amount of pride in their work, fit and finish is excellent for the price. This is a nice knife to just drop in your pocket and forget about, but if you're worried about dinging up those gorgeous bolsters, I'd recommend a pocket slip or sheath. Blade is very nice. Talk whatever trash you want on ancient 420HC, but Buck is the best at it. Great heat treat and a great edge. My blade has a teensy bit of wobble in it, but that's a common issue with backlocks and it doesn't really affect performance. This is a knife that will last you a long time, it will most likely even outlive you. The 55 is probably a perfect first knife for a child or a great alternative if your scary murder 110 was raising too many eyebrows in the office.

Follows the simple and classic design of the 110 but in a much more carryable size. Great in-the-pocket option that brings a sense of nostalgia, while also being a very useful little tool.
