Mark Nevling, the craftsman and creator of Burr Oak Knives, discovered his enthusiasm for knife-making in 1987 when he created his first knife. He has continued in perfecting his work since that time, now as a full-time maker with a skill set that is evidenced in the exemplary knives he produces. Mark Nevling is also a volunteer firefighter and a certified first responder in Hume, Illinois; this gives him working knowledge of the particular needs of these professionals.

The Dreadnought is a new model from Burr Oak and this is #1! It features a 416/52100 Damascus San Mai steel blade with the thumb stud opener on front and stamped "Burr Oak Nevling" on back. The handle features mokume bolsters and lightning strike carbon fiber scales over titanium liners. The steel back spacer is filed, along with the liners and blade spine. This knife comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, dated 10/23/13.
