This is one of my favorite knives no matter what price point. Very flickable, and the button lock design is perfect for me. Detent is awesome and the Damascus steel holds an edge quite well. Being a lefty, I am super happy with this purchase. Can't tell you how many knives just stay in the drawer because they just don't feel or work well for us lefties.
I have hundreds of knives in my collection, and the only knives I will purchase from Chinese manufacturers come from WE or Civivi. I have button locks from US manufacturers that do not deploy as smooth as this one. What an outstanding value! This has been my daily EDC for the past month.
This is one of the first higher end knives I’ve gotten and I was not disappointed. Civivi really nailed it with the Altus. Insane build quality, superior blade and edge, and just fits great in the hand. Not only is it built well, but it just looks so clean and awesome, and just makes you feel cool holding it! The service at bladehq is also insane and received it very quickly and with no issues. Definitely will be buying from here again in the near future!
Really enjoy it so far. Don’t have very many China knives but the quality of this unit feels great. Push button drew me in but it’s really my only con on the knife. When flicking it closed the detent doesn’t always hold it in and the blade will usually bounce back out a little and I have to re close with fingers. Other than that quality is A+ and came as sharp as they come.
This knife dull, needing serious sharpening. Instead of cutting cardboard, the cardboard tore. I still like the feel and look of the knife, so I am going to try sharpening it. We'll see how that goes. I must admit I am really used to Benchmade knives. They come extra sharp and are easy to re-sharpen. The button lock on this Civivi takes some getting used to after the Axis locks from Benchmade. I bought this because I have an Elementum that I really like. I couldn't get the new Elementum II with button lock, so decided to try this. I'm disappointed. I'd probably send it back, but what a hassle. By the way, the action on the knife is good. It it weren't, I'd definitely send it back.
