The CJRB Briar is a long, slender flipper knife. It has a smooth, ergonomic handle that allows hard use, a deep carry pocket clip for easy everyday carry, and a needle-sharp D2 blade for acute and obtuse cutting alike.
My comfort zone with pocket knife blades is from 3" to 3.5" ; this one comes in at 3.75" so it's on the longer side for me. What makes it work is that the blade is only 3/4" wide so it fits in the pocket just fine. Pros: - D2 w/ stainless frame & G-10 scales - Deep pocket carry - Good sharpness (shave sharp out of the box, with no nicks or rolled edges) - Perfect alignment with no wobbling - Solid lock-up and accessible release on the liner lock - Good balance - Good value for what appears to be a solid knife Cons: - The handle is skinny, it fits my hands fine, but if you have big paws this might not be the blade for you - No jimping on the spine of the blade (personal preference) Unknowns: - no experience with CJRB or their heat treatment Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. Time will tell.
