Based on the classic Japanese Kwaiken, this Obake fixed blade knife features a black Katana style nylon wrapped handle with a red synthetic rayskin underlay. The blade features a satin polished finish that complements the handle well. The Obake includes an injection molded sheath for secure and consistent retention.
This knife is the perfect size for my hands, the handle is really grippy, and it came nice and sharp the point is insanely sharp and cuts through packages like butter, this knife makes me feel like a samurai opening packages.
Been carrying one of these for a few years now . I added a couple of soft loops from NSR Tactical so I could hang it horizontal on my belt . I liked it so much I ordered a couple more in case the discontinued it and I needed a replacement . The wrapped grip provides plenty of texture so no slipping even when getting aggressive with it . I wish they made a trainer for it , that's the only drawback .
Nice spine , shape and handle .Very sharp and great size .
Lightweight, strong for the footprint and metal quantity, the carry method: It's not a new carry method (to most), but it was new to me! This little knife is a GREAT knife to carry EDC, to include inside the boot. For the price... you really can't go wrong, well.. you could. IF you didn't buy this knife.. or two of them.
Beautiful little knife, well worth it.
Loved it so much since the original is what really got me into blades!! Thought why not have the whole series, there amazing in every way but the belt clips, they suck, I suggest a spyderco G clip
Knife came in perfect condition, extremely sharp, handle offers great grip shealth works well. I’m very happy. Just a beginner in knife collecting I’m more into guns
Not a user, for me. Excellent sheath, rides in pocket well, stabby, attractive/grippy handle, and GREAT price.
The Obake is a great and handy little knife. It comes with two carrying methods and both work well. The short lanyard can be slipped on a belt as a retention leash while you carry the sheathed knife in a pocket. The belt clip can be attached for a horizontal draw in either direction, and with either an edge down or up orientation. The sheath retains the knife very well and I have no issues with it. It is slim and doesn't stick out enough to get in the way. The grip on the knife is perfect. The ito wrap gives a very textured and grippy feel. The blade has a thick spine which gives your thumb or index finger a lot of purchase when using it for cutting tasks. This is a great knife and has become one of my main edc blades. It handles day to day tasks with ease. Also, as a self defense knife, the easy accessibility and quick draw makes me think this knife would be of great aid should a situation arise.
I like this knife but am not in love with it. The blade is nice and thick and it has a unique handle with plenty of grip. It has a nice plastic sheath. Looks like a letter opener though, and for some reason I just cannot get a good, sharp edge on it.
I can't pass up a good deal on a CRKT knife. Design and aesthetic might be their top priority, but they don't skimp on quality and reliability. Didn't have many fixed blades in my collection, and I couldn't pass up this katana style blade. Could be a little sharper out of the box, but that's an easy fix. Overall nice addition to my collection
It feels really good in the hand, light weight and the sheath is outstanding for the price. Only down side is it came super dull but I sharpened it and its razor sharp now, definitely recomend!
The knife works exactly how it should. Nice and sharp for the steel. Nothing wrong with the knife in particular. The handle does not have the best grip ever and I am fearful that my hand might slip onto the blade. Again, not a real problem, but I prefer knives with a grip that feel safe for your hand. (this is why the Obake only gets a 4/5, otherwise it is perfect)
One of my favorite EDC fixed blades. Saw this satin color combo & had to get it. Definitely more for self defense thn practical use but looks & feels great! Akari/ Achi better for utility use.
It's an ok knife for the price, but the blade was very off center.
