I have no idea when they first came out, but when they first hit the rack at a local Gander Mt I picked up 5 of them, handed three out as gifts, they were 16.00 bucks. We all figured they would last a little while. Maybe 2003? Ok, 15 plus years later, lots of trail clearing, cutting down softwood trees, branches, food prep, whacking with it like it was a light tomahawk, it is still going strong, Get one, just Get one
