A steal for the price interesting aesthetics, and solid quality.
This knife is a unique design that I really like. The most obvious thing is the ring. It makes it super easy to extract from your pocket. Only the ring is visible above the deep carry clip. Secondly, the ring allows you to hold onto the knife during interrupted cutting jobs. The ring could also allow for easy attachment to a carabiner or similar type clip. The contoured G10 scales look great and allow for a full hand grip on this sub 3 inch blade. The G10 in front of the pivot is bevelled for a comfortable pinch grip. The blade completely disappears into the handle when closed for a real smooth clean look. The corners of everything are chamfered so there are no sharp corners. Fit and finish is great. The blade fires out easily on the IKBS bearings. At this price this knife is a bargain and a unique addition to my knife collection.
I usually don’t buy anything that’s made outside of the USA, that goes for guns, optics and most everything. This knife has no Chinese or Japanese markings which is good. I love everything about this knife, it’s perfect in size, thickness, ease of use, good looks, and materials (D2 & G10 plus copper). All my other knives are 250 dollars or more, and I swear I rank this knife right up there with them, minus the Carbon fiber. I use this knife if I’m going somewhere that I’m afraid of loosing or breaking it, because of the price point, this would be easier to replace then a limited Brous Blade knife any day. Get one, you won’t be disappointed.
The handle and blade feel so great. It’s tactile bliss. The ring is beautiful. The blade is sharp. Not my favorite knife but I end up carrying it a lot. Not worth $60 but less than $30 ? Ver much so !!!!
Basically, I love the look and feel of the Ring, it's excellent! However the blade assist mechanism is garbage. It's like the guy was sitting at his desk inventing their blade assist, and someone was looking at a Kershaw knife in the other room. It's terrible, it's like how LaCroix water tastes. It's not big enough for a proper flick without moving your wrist, because the triangle on the back of the blade is too small to find real purchase on. Then the blade guard inside the knife is weird so that when you flick it out, it doesn't lock and you have to flick it twice, unlike my Kershaw, where it just slides on by it and has a nice assist feature. CRKT Ibi is a pretty terrible design, and I wish I wouldn't have bought this knife.
