Description

Description

CRKT has partnered with Russ Kommer on the updated Fulcrum 2 Compact knife. It utilizes the innovative opener that made the first model a hit and pairs it with a stylish, high performance blade and handle design.

The drop point style blade is gray titanium nitride coated, matching the Fulcrum bolster and stainless steel liners. Carbon fiber textured GRN scales add a great touch to this classy everyday carry knife. And, in that vein, the Fulcrum 2 includes a tip-down carry clip. It'll be there when you need it.

If you're not familiar with the Fulcrum mechanism, you'll be surprised how easy it is to use and enjoy. Simply use your thumb to open it by pushing down on the actual sliding scale and pull back on the handle. The blade goes into its locking position and that's it. Compliments about your cool knife will follow. You've been warned.

Iíve had this little guy for a couple months now. The materials are as nice as you would expect at this price, if not more so. It has nice heft in the hand and doesnít wiggle/rattle cheaply. The blade is slightly off-center, but itís not a Sebenza and itís not unobtanium steel so I wonít deduct points for that. The one thing that cost this knife a 5 star rating is the pocket clip. The clip is fairly flimsy, seats the knife relatively high in the pocket, and the tip of the clip is bent outwards to ease pocket insertion. However, this outward-extending clip tip is perfectly engineered to catch on the seams at the bottom edge of whatever outer garment you happen to be wearing, and the weak tension of the clip combined with the small size and high position of the knife in your pocket mean that this knife is constantly at risk of flying out every time your shirt brushes against the clip. I have sent it clattering to the ground more Times than I can count, and as such I now drop it completely into my pocket if I want to carry it. Not ideal. Still a beautiful design with a functional blade made from reasonable steel, and the opening mechanism is genuinely entertaining to watch others try to figure out! Fix the clip and this is an easy 5 star knife.
Excellent fidget knife

Purchased this knife about a month ago. The opening mechanism is very unique, and hard not to play with. It was a little stiff when new, but loosened up after about 100 opens and closes. Not one of my friends has been able to figure out how to open it on their own, which makes it a fun knife to have your buddies play with. Construction is excellent, with little to no play in the blade when open, and nearly perfectly centered when closed. Steel isn't going to rock anyone's world, but it arrived quite sharp and is very easy to maintain. Really happy with my purchase.
