This Antique Silver challenge coin from Carpe Diem EDC reminds the holder that time is fleeting, that death waits at the end for all of us, and that it's important to make the most of every day.

The front of the coin features a skull with an escapement gear (found in watches and mechanical clocks) in the skull's forehead to represent the passing of time. The back side represents the "tree of life"and two phrases separated by roses as a subtle suggestion to stop and smell the roses.

Latin phrases are visible on both sides of the coin. The front of the coin reads: TEMPUS EDAX RERUM or "Time destroys all things," and MORS VINCIT OMNIA for "Death conquers all." The opposite side reads: QUAM BENE VIVAS REFERT NON QUAM DIU for "It is how well you live that matters, not how long."
