The Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist was inspired by a knife design that Lynn Thompson discovered while on a research trip in Argentina. After trying out a solid steel knife from knife-maker Michal Ahchez, Lynn began experimenting on how to bring this classic fixed blade knife to a wider audience. What resulted was a precision designed survival knife made from a solid piece of drop forged 52100 high carbon steel. With a Rockwell Hardness of 58-59, there is no cutting job too difficult for this heavy duty survival knife. It has an ergonomic handle that features an integral guard, deep comfortable trough and a lanyard hole for easy EDC. It also includes a tough Secure-Ex sheath for comfortable carry.
