The FGX Karambit is part of Cold Steel's Nightshade Series of knives. It is made from Grivory, a glass reinforced nylon material that is impervious to the heat, cold, and moisture. The handle is grippy Kray-Ex and sports a stainless steel keyring.
Bought this as a legal concealed car knife. Plastic knives are not considered weapons in Florida therefore I can conceal this in my car legally. Has a wicked point and I believe this would serve its purpose as a "get the hell off me" defense tool against any road raging maniac that would try to enter my personal space. Also got 2 FGX push daggers and a FGX Tai Pan concealed and strategically placed in my car as well. Be ready for anything, anywhere in the vehicle. I tested penetration on stacked cardboard and it performed great with no loss of tip. I have not tested the other 3 FGX I bought because this one performed well and leads me to believe they would do fine also.
