As its name suggests, Cold Steel's G.I. Tanto is a no-nonsense tactical knife. It may be lean and spare, but it delivers the goods where they count the most! The broad Tanto point blade, integral guard, and Polypropylene handle scales exemplify a tactical knife stripped down to its bare essentials. Its ground razor sharp out of 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper and protected by a black, rust resistant finish so its ready to take all the abuse you and Mother Nature can dish out.
Heavy, sharp and wonderfully balanced, its easy to throw by either the blade or handle and it hits with real vigor. In a survival or self-defense situation, it can be quickly and easily converted into a spear or war club. Just remove the handle scales and lash the blade securely to a suitable wooden shaft! This was my first blade from blade HQ and my first blade that wasnt a pocket knife. Beautiful blade all around; the metal is nice, handle is great, and the sheathe is nice and sturdy! 10/10
This knife has taken so much abuse so well that I've decided to reward it and turn it into my first customized blade. For the money, I'm not sure there's anything else out there that can handle what this tank of a knife can handle. Came sharp and has remained sharp with minimal maintenance. 10/10
This is a total workhorse of a knife and is awesome. It came really sharp, when I got this years ago. I've used it whenever i need a serious cutter/chopper and it hasn't failed me yet.

This beast of a blade may not be the prettiest one, but when looks don't matter and you need a beater that can handle must anything, look no further!! For those that looks do matter this is an amazing starter blade to modify, I've striped the coating and gave it a mustard patina, went to town on the handle with a dremal for added grip, endless possibility with this work horse!!
They're not lying when they say this knife will take all the abuse you can give it. I've had one for about five years now and I've put it through absolute hell. The sheath is kind of falling apart on me now but the knife itself is still in great condition. For less than $50 this is one of the most functional and durable knives you will find.
Just a beast. Tough as nails. Can do anything you need and won’t break the bank! Great knife!
For the price, this is a solid knife. Good sheath, decent steel. Don't regret picking this one up.
