There’s no single edged weapon that we can think of that can out-chop or out-cut a good Kukri. It’s true that the best Kukris, like Cold Steel's LTC and Gurkha models, can be somewhat expensive. While those “thoroughbreds” perform extraordinarily well for the money that they cost, it sometimes seems that what’s required is a good, inexpensive, “workhorse” model. Cold Steel's Kukri Machetes are those workhorses. They are available in two sizes, this Kukri Machete that has a thirteen inch blade and the other, the Magnum Kukri Machete model that has a whopping seventeen inch blade. Both are ready to plow through the toughest chores life can dish out. Each features the distinctive weight-forward balance of their “top-of-the-line” models, and always present their edge on an angle so they’re guaranteed to “bite” deep with every stroke. Additionally, they come complete with a sturdy Cordura sheath! They're a solid value, ready for long, hard work.
I've had one for 10 years and I've used it for everything. I ever scared off a crazy person in a parking lot with it. I had to get a new one because the last one got stolen.
Besides it great looks, it has a great feel. The handle rock and the blade is super sturdy and sharp! Thank you cold steel! Ps. I might of bought 2 of them :)
This is my first experience using 1055 steel and I was very pleased with the feel and performance of this kukri. I maintain land and run into alot of parallel branches. This is great for chopping and limbing those young trees. Very durable and easy to sharpen....and just kicks tail. Hard to beat this machete and sheath for the price.
Very effective machete. I love the weight forward design. Good axe substitute plus machete action make this a multi faceted tool. Awsome for camping.
