Form before function

Steller build quality, and itís a slicing machine. The pocket clip is the weakest Iíve seen, and itís pointy so it snags on everything. Ruined the first pocket clip on day one. ...Iíd say that itís a good thing it comes with two pocket clips, but the tip of the blade is exposed just enough when closed that it makes holes in my pants just from carrying it. So, carrying this knife clipped to my pocket isnít going to happen unless I want all my pants ruined. This is the type of knife for people who love to collect beautiful knives, and not use them. This is the 2nd CKF knife I bought, and I have to say ďform before functionĒ sums up this brand in my estimation.
Incredible Overall Design & Execution!!!

OK...Took delivery on this Morrf after seeing Zelrick's review on YouTube. What an incredible knife. The milling, the sculpted CF, Blade design, M390, the balance, the lightweight, the spare parts!...This knife really blows me away. The action: um WOW! I did agree with Zel and grinded off the tip of the thumb-ramp to smooth it out at first point of contact and now I have to say that this knife is perfect!!! I took it apart to get familiar, clean & lube it and I discovered what no one has mentioned, is the incredible subtle intricacy of the way that the stop pin in milled right through to the outside of the scale..forming a little black dome above the knife pivot in both scales. It is design and function genius. REALLY!!!!
WHAT MACHINING and overall design. Totally unique and beautiful. I was perplexed when taking the knife apart, wondering what the little black domes were...Once I saw all of the cutouts in the blade around the flipper tab and saw the stop pin and how the knife stops when both open and closed...I was truly BLOWN AWAY with the obsession of the design and execution here. Truly above the grade of most knives!!!!!! This thing is incredible.

Quality of a Custom built, reliability of a work horse. You need to adjust your grip for this, if your fingers rest on the locking portion of the frame, good luck opening it. If you move your fingers closer to the spine, it open so fast youd think its spring assisted. Comes with 2 extra sets of all the hardware including the pocket clip. The handle melts into your hand, the blade is beefy enough for whatever work you need to do. I'll be a long time customer of CKF after this purchase

This is an initial impression review, as I've had this Murrf for only a short time. So far, though, I can find nothing wrong with it, which, for me, is high praise, as most knives have a little something here or there that's a problem. The Murrf, for a production knife, is near perfect. Nice strong detent, the blade rockets out and locks up well, it unlocks without having to strain to push open the lockbar; no blade play in any direction; the handle is ergonomically very comfortable, with no hot spots; the clip works well and is hardly noticeable when I hold the knife; the edge is very sharp, as are all CKF edges, and I love the shape of the blade and what looks like hand-rubbed satin finish. It has this scooped out place on the spine where your thumb fits wonderfully, while the jimping grips your thumb without hurting or tearing it, and might be the best jimping I've ever seen. The texturing of the handle makes it pretty grippy. It is not a total custom knife and may not be the most beautiful knife I have, compared to some $1000 knives, but it's excellent in every way.
