The blade has jimping on the spine for easy handling and is fashioned from AUS-10 steel, which is a fabulous all around material. If you look at it, the drop point is almost a spear point—but almost. Great for piercing, but it's got the belly you need for slicing and thwacking. The full-thickness tang gives you the strength for batoning and other bushwacking activities, but the sharp point can tackle more delicate tasks. The Freereign is a knife that won't disappoint on its own, but it also comes with a sheath with a nylon core so the material won't dull your blade. The sheath also unscrews apart when you want to give it a thorough cleaning.
