This model of the Gerber Key Note sports a tan aluminum handle with a black finished blade.
The Gerber Key Not is a compact, multi-purpose key chain knife with a cutting edge and a scraping edge. It can be opened with the nail nick or by using the "starter tab" to open the knife slightly and pull it open. Item includes a stainless steel pocket clip and key ring for versatile EDC.
I bought this as part of the Gerber promotion. I wonder how it will workout given the design. I guess when you think about it, most urban cutting tasks only need a little bit of the blade. While the spine is close to 1 inch in length, the leading underside of the Tanto is 9/16 inch. The pocket/money clip and key ring are a nice options option but I took them off. I will attach a some para-cord for a lanyard.
I utilize the Key Note mainly as a belt clip for my keys. Very helpful in keeping them on my person but out of the way. As well as carrying a traditional knife this works as a great backup. As they say: "the best knife is the one you have on you"!
Was not sure how much I would actually use this with it being such a small blade. However I have had this in my change pocket everyday since I bought it and have been very surprised at how often it comes in handy. Does not come very sharp out of the box however but none the less is a great option for a secondary knife to have on hand.
