Excellent knife. As a blade to collect or to use, this Gerber does not disappoint. Light in the hand. Easily maneuverable. The Gerber Mark II has great balance and feel. Plus it just looks cool!
A classic, that could use an update...

This is one of the most deadly efficient combat daggers ever designed, ruined by serrations. The late Mike Echanis recommended the serrations because there were concerns that people's sensibilities might be offended if Gerber offered a knife to our servicemen designed to kill the enemy! So it became a "survival" knife. Well, if survival means vanquishing the enemy, so be it. I think after all of these years, Gerber could drop the facade. Take off the serrations. Upgrade the steel. Upgrade the sheath. There are several unapologetic daggers offered in the cutlery market these days. This deserves to be one of them. Even with upgrades, I am sure Gerber could make this affordable to the average G.I. Even in its current configuration it is a classic design.

This ain't your Grandma's steak knife. Highly cherished in Vietnam, this classic was developed for one thing and one thing only. Design and craftsmanship are second to none. Truly, a collector's item.
