Typically coatings on knives on tools don't last but this does. I have had mine for a while and the coating looks cool and all the scratches turn into very small lines you can only see in super bright lighting. I use mine for all things but saltwater use comes into play and the coating held up well there too. I haven't broken the cutters yet but if you do and can flip it around which I find so useful

Definitely a tool you’ll find in almost every Soldiers pack at any given time. Mostly because it’s issued but also because it’s an extremely reliable tool and is well worth the money. Don’t leave peanut-butter in it.
So I've had this for about a week now. Everything has worked as it should at this point. The biggest reason I bought this was the one handed opening feature. It is nice when you have to utilize your other hand.
