Add a state of the art OTF automatic to your rotation with the RECON-035 from Guardian Tactical. This RECON model is built with a stonewashed blade and a black anodized handle.
Guardian Tactical's patented OTF mechanism provides smooth, responsive opening action. The unique thumb slide design is separated from the aluminum handle by a steel plate and 3 ceramic balls that eliminate grinding and wear. An innovative locking mechanism sits off to the side of the blade channel so it doesn't drag against the blade when opening and closing. These features eliminate the friction on the blade and button that have always plagued OTF knives. Take your OTF game to the next level with the Guardian Tactical RECON-035.
Great knife. The action is amazing. So smooth and not too much force required to open or close. Razor sharp out of the box. I like the size and feel in my hand. Has a soft, kinda powdery finish so it holds firm. Only suggestion is to make the clip ambidextrous for us lefties!
Solid, sturdy, smooth. Feels great in the hand and the action really feels well-engineered. I like the idea of minimal friction surfaces to eliminate wear in an auto. The patented mechanism seems to be a real winner. The only quibbles are: The deployed lock-up has a little play, but it's an OTF, so expected. It's not loose, but there is some tiny amount of play. The finger grooves in the handle could be a little deeper for a more secure grip, something like a Boker Kalashnikov, which seats in the hand so well. But that would require the handle to be wider, so probably a trade-off that Guardian decided not to make to keep the profile slim. Other than that, it is superb. Very glad I bought it as soon as it was restocked because it's already out of stock again the day after I received it. Obviously popular, and for good reason. Move over to Microtech.
Super smooth action, solid lockup and came razor sharp out of the box. The example I received looked like it had been fired several times so maybe a previous return but it was in otherwise perfect condition. It's a little more substantial than my Microtech UTX so a bit bigger to carry but definitely a solid product, highly recommended, and seems to be built to last.
I love this knife. I've never been drawn to out-the-front knives because one, they are way expensive (for a good one) and 2, the blades always look wimpy. This knife not only looks amazing, but the blade is actually a little beefier than most out-the-front knives. And the Recon was razor sharp out of the box. Well done Guardian Tactical
