I have the Lansky and Wicked Edge and the Ken Onion Work sharp systems...they all work, if you use them properly or have $700.00 (wicked edge is pricey) but for the shear price and functionality, you cannot find a a better, easier system for getting a razor edge on your knife than the KME system. And I don't like having to use 2 separate stones, one for each side like the Wicked Edge system....too many parts to misplace. The KME is great, I recommended it to my C.O. I like it so much.
Fantastic!

I received my kme sharpening system with a bent guide rod and the foam in the case was twisted tried to get a replacement rod and no can do I have to send the entire system back along with the rest of my order for a refund then order again , if you have Parkinson disease as I do it may be easier to go through kme directly and avoid the middle man .

I've had my new KME sharpening system for a week and have sharpened six knives ranging from a 10" chef's knife to ZDP-189 Delica, and have had excellent results.

The quality of the fixture and KME diamond hones is top notch. This system elevated my sharpening abilities beyond what I could do with my bench stones and triangle sharpener.

I had a good understanding of the sharpening process before my purchase, and studied the vast array of You Tube vidoes on the system prior to using the KME. There are a lot of tips and tricks to make the system work better. Using a cell phone level app to check your set-up angles is one of many. I am very pleased with my purchase, and plan on buying more accessories as my skill level with the system grows.
Decent idea, frustrating flaws

The virtue of this system is consistency: knowing that stroke for stroke, every time the stone passes over your blade it's at the same angle.

Unfortunately, that's only true in one place on your blade. If you have a 4" long blade, the angle at which the stone meets the edge will be different by as much as 2 degrees at either end of the blade as it is at the center point, due to the geometry of the system. So don't expect an even edge unless you are prepared to remove and reclamp the blade multiple times per side, per stone.

Also, though flipping the knife theoretically ensures the same angle on both sides, that's only true if the knife is perfectly level in the clamp. For smaller blades and other-than-flat grinds, a variance of a couple degrees between sides is not uncommon. So you have to adjust the angle of the stone every time you flip the knife. All of this requires that you have an accurate angle measuring device.

Another more serious issue is scratches on your knife. If you set an angle shallower than 20 degrees, expect scratches as high as 3/8 of an inch up the blade. I don't know quite why or how, but many users have this issue. The proposed solution is to tape the blade up to the edge, but if you run the tape closer than a quarter inch at shallower sharpening angles, it interferes and gums up the stone.

The clip is also a problem. On smaller knives, to set an 18 degree bevel required putting the knife so far forward in the clamp jaws that the knife was not stable. Any farther back and the stone scraped the top of the clamp.

And finally, KME sells what should be standard items as extras. The base is essential if you don't plan to hard-mount this on a bench, and should be standard. An over-travel stop designed to reduce the likelihood of scratching your blade is sold on their web site as an "item that should be in everyone's kit." So why isn't it??

Bottom line: to get the promised consistency often requires as much or more effort as just using an unguided system. I want to love the KME, but it finds ways to frustrate you every step of the way.

This system and its accessories transformed how I view edges and sharpness. Awesome setup for not much money, start with just the basic kit and work your way to mirror edges!
It works.

I have tried many knife sharpening systems, with mixed results. After reading good things about the KME, I decided to give it a call, and I'm glad I did. After practicing on a half dozen old knives, I can now put a razor edge on most any knife. I detest a dull knife, but have never been very good at getting a knife really sharp, but the KME is engineered such that even people like me can consistently get sharp knives. I highly recommend it.

I met the brothers from KME years ago at a gun show we were both working. Absolutely fantastic guys to deal with and knew what they were talking about. Their product works VERY well and is built better than just about anything on the market. The best part was any questions, concerns or problems I had could be handled with a phone call to the owners.

Unfortunately I lost everything in a house fire including my KME. It was on the list of things we wanted to try to save from the house but the demo company had everything in that room hauled away by the time I got there. One of these days I'll buy another. It's definitely worth it.
