The Kershaw Barstow is a folding dagger with fast action SpeedSafe assisted opening action. Its symmetrical blade features a single sharpened edge and a BlackWash finish. The handle is fitted with lightweight GFN scales with a grip enhancing arrow pattern. Blue anodized accents and a deep carry pocket clip round out a sleek EDC design.
Features:great feel in hand, actually feels better in a reverse grip which makes sense for a dagger. action is a bit stiff but with the right angle it flies open. decently sharp and the cool blue accents are really nice.
Collect dagger style folders. Had to add to the archives. As always, brand has quality and features for those with budgetary concerns.
Please note: I just received this knife and it will be a gift for my son-in-law. I did inspect it upon arrival though. Assembly is great! Blade's profile is nice. No play in the blade. Handle texture feels good. The overall weight feels good for the size of this knife. My only negative observation was that it could have been sharper out of the box. I could almost give this five stars. I am a diehard Kershaw fan and believe they are one of the best when it comes to affordable EDCs. My last comment is that this is my third year with Blade HQ and their service has always been top-notch! I was running a little late on Christmas shopping this year and they made it happen for me again. Received everything by the 23rd. Thank you BHQ!!!
I'm a collector/aspiring knife maker from MN where autos are illegal to own, so when I saw a cheap assisted flipper with a stiletto-like design, I bought it knowing it would scratch the itch felt by everyone who's been told they can't have a real switchblade. I love playing with this knife. Normally I'm not a fan of SpeedSafe but the action on this is great and I've had no problem closing it with one hand. However, I have been spoiled by pieces with better materials. If Kershaw took this design, slapped a ZT logo on it and produced it in S90V with a Ti framelock, I'd pay $250 for it. As is it's more of a toy for collectors than a proper tool.
