The Clash is an excellent knife from Kershaw. It features SpeedSafe assisted opening; simply give the flipper a push with your index finer and the blade comes out automatically and stays open via the steel liner lock frame. The handle is a lightweight Polyimide® resin with sure-grip texturing and an truly ergonomic shape that fits naturally in your hand. The drop point blade is bead blast finished 8CR13MoV stainless steel with a plain edge. The Clash is an exceptional value in the world of EDC knives and comes with a pocket clip for tip-up or down carry.
It is a little smaller than the ZT, but has similar action and blade shape. Love their recurve blades. It is a great knife for the money. The pocket clip is now changed so I carry it tip up. Both the ZT and this Kershaw are wonderful knives.
I’ve been carrying the Kershaw 1605 Clash as my edc for eight years now. The speed safe assisted opening is truly amazing. One handed opening is fast and safe, never once losing purchase of the knife. The 8Cr13MoV steel is easily sharpened and on par with the steel of my Spyderco Delicia for edge retention . Having large hands I find the handle thickness and size a pleasure to hold. One feature I absolutely love is the pocket clip. Unlike my Spyderco I have never had to adjust the tension. It has never bent or lost its ability to grip the pocket. All in all this is a great inexpensive knife for EDC. Kershaw’s warranty is amazing as well. The spring for the speed safe assisted opening just broke. It was replaced free of charge within one week, and they sent a spare spring as well. Don’t let the price fool you, this knife is a keeper. I highly recommend it.
Excellent EDC knife. Sits nice and low in my pocket. Not too big, not too small, just right. Holds an edge pretty well. Love the assisted opener. It springs out nice and smooth with just a little flick. If you want something that does a great job and won't break the bank, this is it. I'd say you wouldn't be overly upset if you lost it because of the price. Picking up a couple more for gifts.
Well worth the money I bought this knife for my youngest son he's 10 had his name engraved on the blade I was so impressed I was kind of upset I didn't get myself one
This knife feels like a $100 knife. It's incredible. My 2nd favorite Kershaw at the moment. No need to sleep on buying this knife. I'll say it's the best EDC knife you can get at this size and price point.
I bought these before I knew they were designed by Ken Onion. Now I look for Ken Onion knives! Dream of a Zero Tolerance ZT 350 satin blade knife but it's out my league or budget!
I carried the Clash EVERY DAY for 10 years and it's been SUPERB. From the excellent ergonomics that melt into your hand to the awesome recurved drop point to the perfected broad sweeping pocket clip that you simply CANNOT find anywhere else. This knife is EDC perfection. This is one of those knives you can deploy the very second it's drawn from pocket, the only question is your coordination and dexterity. The flipper is reachable with your index through pocket and the lovely broad clip gives your middle finger a large contact patch when drawing from pocket. Why this knife isn't it more popular than it was and why it's never seen exclusive versions, steel upgrades and customization I'll never know. Best pocket knife ever hands down.
I have owned one of these knives for over 5 years now and I love it more now than the day I got it. I don't carry it much anymore as it is pretty beat up. The design on this knife is amazing the ergonomics are solid and you can really lock your hand onto it. This knife was the first one to get me into knife collecting. I now own multiple kershaws with speedsafe and many other higher end knives (spyderco, benchmade, etc..) I have sold a few of them but I know that this one will stick with me forever. Buy it, it's cheap, strong and just begs to be used. The only complaint I would have would be the large pocket clip. It's a great deal and you won't be disappointed.
This is not a knife that will last forever, but as long as you know that going into it, you will not be disappointed. One of the best assisted opening knives I own, it is very solid when open, and the blade does not have much movement at all. The lock is great, and is easy to disengage, but does not feel like it will give out at any second. Highly recommend this knife!
I lover this little blade. Came out of the box incredibly sharp. Carry it every day as a back up.
The price and durability make this knife a good beater. I used this knife a lot while I worked at a hardware store. I ended up giving it to a friend who works in AV and he loves it. This knife was hard used by two people and it's still working well. There are only a few issues I have with this knife. 1) The pocket clip is really awkward. 2) the blade and the plate that covers the Speed safe spring easily rust. You will need to check this knife for rust often. Build quality: 4 stars Materials: 3 stars Aesthetics: 2 stars Personal likability: 4 stars
Sweet little blade. Smooth action and sharp steel.
