Description

The 1555TBW Cryo features a blackwash finished blade and handle! This assisted opening folder is quite the treat for those looking to get an inexpensive Rick Hinderer designed knife with a high-quality build. The Cryo was awarded the "Best Buy of the Year" at 2012 Blade Show and it gets 2 thumbs up from us at Blade HQ.

The Cryo is a framelock knife with a Hinderer lockbar stabilizer. The blade is deployed with a push of the ambidextrous thumb stud or flipper. The pocket clip is four-way reversible for multiple carry options.

Picked up this knife because I wanted a couple cheaper Hinderer designs. And it ended up being a GREAT knife. Love the blackwash. SpeedSafe assist is smooth as always. A knife I wouldn't be afraid to carry in ANY situation, but also a knife I wouldn't be afraid to show off. Homerun from Kershaw with this bad boy.

...Because it is near perfect. The knife at $40 outperforms others I own costing twice that amount. The assisted opening is as instant as a switch. The acid stonewash finish is incredible and and one of a kind. It really makes this piece stand out. The blade is razor shop out of the box, not dull as some reviewers on other sites have reported. They have also mentioned the thumb stubs are useless. They are actually perfectly functional if you chose to use your thumbs to open the blade as opposed to your finger. In fact, with some practice the knife snaps quicker using the studs. Some drawbacks are weight and that one-handed closing is slightly difficult (expected due to it being under tension of the assist). This is a $100 knife for $40. No regrets.
