The CQC-4KXL is a larger version of Kershaw's CQC-4. It's designed by Ernie Emerson, built by Kershaw. This knife is manual opening with a thumb disk and Emerson's quick opening wave technology. It has a sturdy frame lock mechanism and grippy black G-10 handle. Reversible pocket clip.

Great Knife for the Price
Jacob M.
For what you pay for, this is a great knife. I have the Cqc-9k as well and this knife is vastly surperior. It has zero blade play with a very solid lock up. It came hair shaving sharp out of the box. The thumb discs on the Cqc series arent the best, but the Emerson wave more than makes up for it. It works especially well on this blade design. Definitely worth it as a cheap impulse buy!
Great collaboration between Kershaw and Emerson

Its a pretty good knife in my opinion; for 30 bucks, you get a lot of blade. The thumb disc leaves something to be desired as far as deployment, but the wave feature works great and deploys fast. Lock up is solid, but late. Probably not a big deal and If anything goes wrong, I can always use the Kershaw warranty.

I was never into the Emerson designs initially; I thought the wave made it look ugly, but eventually I warmed up to it. I can't afford a real Emerson at the moment, and hope to get one someday, but for now, this is a great substitute for those who can't afford one.
Love it

This knife cannot be beat at the price. I bought a Kizer Sovereign, a CRKT Shenanigan and this, and this was definitely the one I was most excited for.

I carried a legitimate Emerson while working for the Sheriffs Office, sold it when I was forced out for medical reasons to pay for some dr's bills. Been wanting one again ever since but they're quite pricey.

This knife is super sharp out of the box. Cut through paper like it was nothing. It has a solid lockup and the wave is great. I've been sitting here flipping it for almost 2 hours and the already smooth action is butter now. Detent holds it in perfectly, but a wrist snap will send the blade out and give a solid lock. If you're on the fence about this, get off the fence and pick this up. Only counter point to the description is when measured my blade is about 3 3/4, which is close and maybe a bit nitpicky, but still something to know for those in areas with 4 inch laws worried about LE not measuring well if it comes up. Feels heavy enough to live up to any needs you can run into in EDC situations, and for LE out there, the quick deployment is absolutely a useful feature for seatbelts to defense.
Emerson Designed, Kershaw Built, works for me.

Came out of the box razor sharp, lockup is at about 10 percent. It's big, solid and sharp. The Wave works great, thumb disk also works very well. I only wish the blade wasn't made of 8CR and was made of 12C27 or 14C28N, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Side Note: Also comes with extra screws for left hand carry clip mounting. You'll want them, as the G10 side is slightly thicker and the standard screws won't work for it.
Not great, but what you would expect from Kershaw.

It's not great, but at least it was cheap. CQC-4K is one of my least favorite blade shapes from the Kershaw/Emerson line. I wish they would've made the CQC-6 into an XL instead.
I give it points for being big, the wave feature, and the low price. Quality is standard Kershaw, not bad, not great.
